20 year tech here....use my credit cards and debit cards liberally all over the internet since Amazon started!! In all of that time I have received 1 phone call from 1 credit card saying, "hey did you just buy a TV in Detroit?". I said no and they handled it.....

I am litte shocked it has only happened once!

Walmart has been in the news in the past year, with hackers in areas stealing and using card info, this of course is along time since it happened to Don. I don't know if they caught the person who scammed husband or not, and I wonder how many more were scammed this way. Walmart our trusted friend as other places, hire people who are not trustworthy, or they manage to setup things without their knowledge in order to scam customers.

Exactly the way I think. I don't own a debit card because I always felt the hackers could clean out my bank account. I only use a credit card because of the fraud protection it offers. I have been hacked several times and the credit card company just removes those charges from the bill no problems. I don't think they even need to get the physical card to scam you these days. I think if you use it online like I do your a target.

Did you get hacked or did someone just get your CC number?

If they ever do that to me I hope they give a single. I don't play well with others. A few fights might settle that.

Dagnabbit, now I want a butterburger.....

And I carry two debit cards, and three credit cards with me on the road. They all have automatic transaction notification synced with my phone, so as soon as I swipe, I get a text telling me how much was transferred. I carry cash to use on the road, the only thing I use a card for is maybe a scale ticket. As for fuel in my personal vehicles, we exclusively get fuel at Speedway using their gift cards, and we always go inside to swipe the card. At most, they'll get $100 from us, but we're double-dipping on the rewards points, too.

My buddy lost 200+ dollars in points from Pilot. Saving for new GPS. All they needed was a phone number. The scammers were in Spokane and he was in Alabama. Pilot said too bad so sad.
