My debit card finally got hacked

Now that makes me burn. Wanna go on the war path. But you are right. So solly so sad. Bye bye. errrr.....*Grumps...

 

If you don't put a cedit freeze on your credit reports & you don't review your credit/debit card accounts every month you don't care if your are ripped off and neither do I.

 

With my credit cards if someone "hacks" the account it cost me nothing. Why volunteer to lose ANYTHING with a debit card. on credit cards I also get 30 days free to pay the bill. This discussion is like first saying "I will not wear a seat belt" and then discussing which car is safest to drive. Credit Freeze, not LifeLock. No worries.

 

Be very careful here with cards tied to ACH checking accounts. Usually they are defended by a 500 dollar limit so a overdraft auto pay may be approaved and you might be assessed a 40 dollar overdraft fee for that one time. You now have 30 days to not only pay the 40 dollar penalty but also whatever is overdrafted.

If your account was dry, and your billing for the family, home, utitlites etc autodrafted to a thousand dollars or more and adding say... 20 seperate bills paid at a penalty of 40 dollars each you now have a problem. That money must be made good to the bank in 30 days. At 60 days your checking account is closed, you handed whatever is in it if any. or a bill for the balance due and THEN.. that particular account and you are reported as a charge off to the banking's system version of DAC.

At this point you no longer have the right to open a checking account. If you tried you will fail. Now you are bankless. That is where walmart and loading cash into a debit card comes in.

 

The Feds just say they can listen to you through your light bulbs so you don't find out they actually listen AND control your mind through that one tooth that just feels different.

 

i had my debit card information stolen once, i run a pretty large volume threw my debit card so it didn't trip the fraud alert. i caught it within 24 hours though. some of the purchases were from websites the websites where in all Chinese they spent several thousand dollars within 24 hours. i went to the bank and they asked me how i knew it was fraud i replied that i don't speak let alone read Chinese....lol

they canceled the card ordered a replacement with a new card number and it took a couple weeks to get the money refunded but i got it all back.

i think the card information was stolen at a restaurant and then sold.

now any restaurants that take your card or any time i pay for something where the card has to leave my sight i use a credit card that only has a 500 dollar limit.

 

Sure it does, but look at when it was made.

It would perhaps make a good remake.

 

At what Walmart pays, I don't think they can be very choosy in who they hire.
