I might just be grumpy but this business would just be a lot better with out drivers or customers.Rather some of the drivers or customers.Just as you get bottom feeder companies you get BF drivers and BF customers.I was a full time driver for 8 years and would often daydream about my ultimate truck. It was nothing special by todays standards , I never even considered an Air-con or air suspension as these were not an option.400hp was a pipe dream 350hp was what I dreamt about.

As a small fleet owner my dream truck would have a few features that I have not come across in any truck as yet.Not even in the fancy EU models that have all the unnecessary things that can cause a break down .The most worth mentioning (are you listening manufactures) is the following. It could be described as the bottom feeder driver thumper (BFDT). It would have a self reseting spring operated mechanism.I suppose it could also be pneumatically driven. You could fit various items to the end of the mechanism. Like a bull whip,a fake flat hand,a fake fist, a night stick the manufactures could offer different options.Oh a stun gun would be good too. When trigged it would impart on the BFD a thump or zap. What ever floats your boat. This would be interfaced with all types of sensors.

Speeding by 5mph = soft thump.
Speeding by 10mph = moderate thump.
Speeding by 30 mph = ejector seat activation (still under development).
Curbing the trailer empty = moderate thump.
Curbing the trailer loaded = heavy thump.
Making a tight u turn fully loaded = heavy thump + stun gun zap.

If you order the top of the range it comes with an integrated lie detector.
You can program some questions that have to be answered at set times or randomly.
e.g. Did you drain the air tanks this morning?
Did you check the 5th wheel was properly engaged?
Did you make sure none of the straps were put over sharp edges?
Did you check for re-bar before you entered the construction site?
Did you place the dunnage over the trailer rib?

I think you get the idea.

This I know would appeal to the fleets and none of the possessional drivers on this forum would mind as they never commit any of these infringements and there are no BFD here.

    LBZ Thanks this.
