I'd much rather work three 12 or 14hr days and take 4 or 5 days off than work five 8hr days and the reality is it's not even really working 12 or 14hrs.

That's typically how I run. I don't do the myth of "need to be out 2 weeks" to make any money OTR.. I take a load out then I take a load back home and I'm done for the week. Sometimes I might do a load in the middle instead of right back but I don't go weeks over the road anymore. The longest I've stayed out on any run since I got my authority was 5 days and that was actually my 1st week.

Not saying I wont ever stay out later, it's just I choose not to at this point because I'm staying in the lower states during the winter so it's all short hops. Summer I'll stay out longer when it pays.

    No. :)
How much money can you NET burning the candle at both ends before you start giving the profit back to the man through taxes. The more you make the more they take. How much would you really make when doing more work like that? I think you would still be working harder for less money anyway, less money for more work than the inefficient competition. I think they would net more per hour in that situation. Work to live or live to work?
