So I got to my first stop 30 minute before they opened because I heard on the radio (not the CB) that there was TONS of traffic, parking lot conditions lol, There was a flipped over BIG truck that shut down a road, and SWAT had a standoff going with some dirt bag and this also had some roads closed! This is in DALLAS, TX. So I left 30 min early and of corse all of that wasn't anywhere near where I was in dallas lol
So after sitting there for a half hour I go in and give them the paper work and she says "62 PEICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" shes like "no W/S didnt tell me they were sending 62 peices on one truck!" then shes like "hmmmm ok I got it back into door 1 and we'll load a few outbound trucks so that we can put your stuff where theres was"
So after sitting there for a total of 1.5 hours I finnally got to go, good thing was I didnt have to unload it they have a crew for that...
Then I think on my third stop I call ahead and pull in and back up to THE DOOR THEY TOLD ME TO, and this is of course after I had to go do a U-Turn to get in there....THEN it's like 12:15pm and this guy comes out and says "you need to back into this dock" and I say "the guy that answered the phone said this door" and he says "you need to back into this door" so I say "I'll carry your 3 little boxes over there" and he says "I'm on my lunch break, and I'm not doing anything and you need to back into this dock" and he goes inside and shuts and locks the door....and as hes walking away I say "you can't sign the paper on your lunch break?" no response from him.......
I was about ready to knock him the F**** out! There was NO way I was going to drive 30 minute to turn around so that I could back up to this little concrete thing NOPE!
So I grabed his crap and used my dolly to bring it over to the concrete thing and I stacked them up there and sat in my truck while his Sh** sat outside on the concrete (I was right there 5 feet away watching to make sure nothing happend to it but I was making a point! lol Any hoo so 1 hour later the manager comes back from break and he cant park in his spot because my truck is blocking the whole parking lot so he parks on the road and comes over and signs the paper and I leave. I was SOOOO PISSED lol what a waste of time
Then the next few stops went ok, then I get to the last one I was going to do for the day, and the guy (i'm not going to commen on this guy) but I get there and i'm stopped in the suicide lane out front with the forways on. This is the middle of DOWNTOWN Austin, TX so theres 2 lanes of constant cars flying by both side of me and I call him and ask him where he wants me to go....and says just pull into the resterant parking lot next door and go around there building and pull up on the side of the road.....so I'm like "hahahaha my truck will NOT fit in there, I couldn't fit my pickup in there haha" so he says as he looks out the window "oh you got one of them big trucks huh?" so 45 minutes later I was about to drive god only knows how far to do a U-Turn and then I pull over to the side of the road with the 4-ways on to unload his 3 pieces and OMG you would have thought I killed someone EVERY single car was blowing there horns and rolling down there windows to yell at me and tell my that I was #1
So anyway I got his stuff off and I'm now sitting here writing this!
I got 6 of 13 stops done dispite all the BS today

I got my first few stops done nice and quick, then I get to this one stop is a moving company Mayflower maybe i Donno anyway so I had to wait 45 minute for a dock, then I back in and wait 2.5 hours to be unloaded!!!!!!
Why you ask? Because they are IDIOTS! I had opened the doors and backed in and went in and asked if they needed me to help unload or anything it was only 8 boxes (some of these moving companies want you on the dock). She says nope the guys will take care of it. So I go back out to my truck and 2 hours later I go back in PISSED like WTF and both of the woman in the office are like "they haven't unloaded you yet!!!!" I said NO and one of them got on the phone and started yelling at the guys out in the warehouse and you will never guess what their excuse was______________. I had a strap in there and they DO NOT unload until I remove it!
So instead of useing their tiny little brains and comeing outside 2 hours earlyier to tell me I needed to do this or better yet just take it off himself.....NOPE. then After I go out there and take it off it takes them another 30 minutes to unload me
Then a few more easy ones and then another dosey lol...So the load stop summery had the name of the customer, address, and phone # like always. But the address wasn't in my GPS so I called to verifiy and there like NO all that info is wrong our company name is ________ and our address is________ so I go there....and Do you know where THERE was??????????
It was the middle of a ghetto Residential neihborhood! So I'm stopped on the side of the road with the 4-ways on again and every house has bars on the windows and boreded up windows and every car that went by had so much bass It shook my truck more then it already virbrates lol and they all had Big Chrome rims on busted and rusted out old cadilacs lol I was like great I'm going to get shot for this 1 box I had left!
So after a bit of calling around I got another phone # that was actully theres and they verified the address which was wrong and I head over there.....Well After going under a little bridge as I come out the other side I look back to see what the height is going the other way (its one of those tilted bridges so in my direction the Left lane was 13' 2 and the right lane was 13' 10) But in the other direction it was left lane 13' 2 and right lane 13' 6 and I wasn't chanceing getting stuck haveing to backup. So I already knew I was going to have to find another way out.
So when I get there the customer and his wife are standing on the side of the road waveing to me to tell me to turn down this road SMALL ROAD so I swing really wide 3 lanes! and still only made it past the fire highdrant by and inch! then they have me go around the block and park on the wrong side of the road (there side) to unload the one box. No problem right?
NOPE, if I keep going forward 5 more feet I'll run into the worlds smallest culdisac and I've driven this truck around some that where way to small but this one there was no way to do it without hitting somthing....So the guys like all excited he gets to help so he runs out in the road so that I can back into there parking lot to turn around lol. Then I had to take a slightly differant route back out.
Now I'm sitting in the TA here in San Antonio, TX Empty and availible.....I hate not haveing a load at the end of the day....you dont know when to go to bed or when to get up lol Had that customer not wasted so much of my time I could have grabbed another load before I parked for the night.... Oh well!
