Well thank you! So far I like everything I've seen with W/S, Good Luck I hope you can get on here at W/S! I've talked with I think 5 or 6 drivers since I've been here and they have all had nothing but good things to say about the company, a few of them I've seen 4 or 5 times lol

Don't worry, AT, Friday will get here soon enough.

You may have some time on your hands, so you could either practice, or put together some rations to take with you to your new truck. Maybe some non-perishable food stuffs (canned fruit, chips, water, soda, etc) unless you've already done so. If you have a cooler, you can get some fresh fruit. Don't go crazy, just enough to get past your first load.

Keep up the good work! :biggrin_255:

What kind of truck are you hoping for?

    I sure hope so! haha

I don't have a cooler or anything yet, I need a paycheck so I can buy an inverter and a fridge......I'm Hoping for a Freightliner Columbia (red one, just in case Tim is reading this Hint Hint haha jk) The white ones are the Penski Lease Trucks for regional drivers East Coast, The red ones are the OTR trucks. But in reality it really doesn't matter what they give me as long as it runs and its legal.....

The Regional (Penski Lease) Trucks are Freightliner Columbia's and Centry Class and they are usually white and a few are Brown

The OTR Trucks are Freightliner Columbia's/Century Class/ Cascaidia's and Volvo's not sure on the models as I'm not a Volvo fan.....

So a few hours ago myself and one of the other guys went out to my truck to drive over to Bennett's because we're lazy and my truck wouldn't start (Batteries Dead) so we said screw it and walked the 100 feet over there haha.

Well my F-250 has the 7.3 Powerstroke which means I have 2 batteries and almost no power not even close to enough to start the truck.

So I called AAA since I'm a gold member so everything is free, they sent out a flatbed with this little jump pack that could barely jump a moped haha. But we tried anyway BOTH batteries and nothing, GREAT! They AAA guy said we don't carry Jumper cables you need the battery truck, BUT he only works during the day FML. So then he's like AAA sells batteries for $125 each I just laughed at the guy and was like no thanks lol. I'm thinking it's one of two things, #1 my alternator died but I can't diagnose that for sure until I get it started, #2 both batteries are toast, fat chance of that since it has been running just fine.

So now I need to see if anyone at the terminal has jumper cables tomorrow, I'm sure someone will so that we can Jump it properly, the tow truck driver said he had never jumped a diesel, Yet he was bragging about how he was a OTR driver for 16 years and about his Huge Pete and all the money he used to make, yet he never had to jump a diesel truck? something sounds fishy to me:biggrin_25511:. If no one does I'll have to call the battery truck and have them jump it, It better be something stupid and cheap haha. I suppose I could throw 2 new batteries in it but I don't want it spend that kind of money just so I can drive the truck .5 miles to the terminal and park it while I go out on the road for at least a month if I don't have to........argg haha

Bad guess on my part. At least they're consistent with equipment.

Been in a Volvo. It rides nice. Reasonably roomy. I haven't driven any Freightliners, just Internationals. I do like the look of the big grill on the Cascadia, though.

    AT,

Make sure all the grounds are tight. Diesel cars do a lot of shaking.

That was the first thing I checked, The grounds/Battery Connections/ Alternator belt/ Wires. I just put a brand new starter/ starter relay/ Stater solenoid in just a few weeks ago. The only two things I haven't replaced is the batteries and the Alternator. I was a mechanic and Graduated from BTC as an Aircraft Technician so I'm sure I can figure it out lol I was just tired haha If I have to I can just have it towed home 66 miles away and leave it there till I come home for home time haha then fix it...

Maybe the shop can get a charge into at least one of the batteries while you finish up tomorrow. They may be willing to help a fellow W/S employee!
