Here is a copy of a weekly total I used to keep. Very bad writing.

The weekly number of trips, number of stops, and total miles are listed on Saturday. A trip is leave NC, deliver, return home, leave on next trip, unload, and return home again.

The first week is a carry over from the last week of March with a trip to Michigan. This is April. The last week is 3308 miles. The mileage is cut off in the scan. This was standard furniture hauling. I couldn't do that now for any amount of money, but I was young then like AT.

Aaahh, yes, the Exit 1 Peelot. Lovely place, not allowed to lock the triggers on the pumps (somehow, something always managed to get stuck in there every time I fueled there.... a lock.... a balled up glove..... a rag..... etc...).

At least their showers are clean. There is food down at the convenience store, not much more than the truck stop, but it's something. Hate to admit it, but I love those freakin Pilot sausages. Also, about a half mile down the road (like you are going to go back east) on the interstate), there is a little restaurant and convenience store with truck parking.

    Just for future reference. :biggrin_25525:

Yeah, something told me the other day when you posted you had 21 stops that it was going to be....... an "adventure" to say the least.

    :biggrin_2559:

Did "store runs" for Crosby Trucking and had to unload all of that garbage for Marshalls/TJ-Maxx/Homegoods, kicked the ever loving **** out of me. Paid ok, but nowhere NEAR what you guys get paid for your store runs. Tiny places that they expect you to get a truck into, crap for directions, I actually went behind a strip mall that had NO LEGAL WAY for a truck to get out.

    :biggrin_25511:

No more LTL for me.... EVER!!!!! The NE is bad enough. Doing LTL in those cities in the NE is a whole different level of ****. I will say this: You are officially no longer a newb. You are now a seasoned veteran of LTL, driving through places that are NOT made for trucks, and crap directions.

    Congratulations.

I started thinking the worst AT, you lost your V Card on the vurniture loads now! How is ATMOM? Sammycat gave her that name you can credit her for it,
I was going to start asking the company where you were, so I asked around on the thread and I think a few folks got confused as to what I was asking for, someone mentioned they didn't want another ORG episode and then I asked what. "His name is" and so they thought I was talking about ORG when I sais I was going go be in Conover and that I will ask about him(you) and they thought I was still talking about ORG. So I hope that clears it up, I'm glad you are well and happy, like someone here said of the conversaton between patient and doctor:
Patient It only hurts when I poke at it.
Dr. Well I can cure that, don't poke at it, is there anything else I can help you with? Take Care Little Giant of a Man.

Well peeps I start orientation this Monday. Quick question(s). What can I expect to find in my truck when it's assigned? Will it be clean? Inverter? New mattress? Radios have cd/cassette and aux jack? Do I get time to thoroughly check it out before I take it? Can I refuse it if it's in bad shape? Tell me about your experiences. I'm looking forward to this new adventure.

Hi there drivin'n my life away. I also start orientation this monday. You asked all the same questions I was just thinking of asking here. I've read every post here and I can tell you that this is a great bunch of W/S truckers. A great bunch of friends that really care about their fellow trucker. I can't wait :)

You can expect to find whatever the last guy left and you are expected to check it thoroughly before you drive it like everyday you drive it...You can refuse it but you better have really good reasons and I would think only safety/mechanical issues would work...

going over with a fine toothcomb comes to mind, in regards to safety mechanical checks.
dont want to get down the road on your first run and realise you missed a defect that was staring you in the face.
