It's been real windy here in Western NY too AT

gusts up to 50mph and sustained winds in the 20-30s
There is a front moving thru the whole country and the jet stream dropped. Suppose to be in the 50s by the end of the week! That's VERY warm for this part of the country

If you look at Prog or surface wind charts or see the lines on the weather segment of the news that surround a high or low pressure area you can tell whether there will be high winds or not by how close the lines are to each other...Each line represents a change in pressure, the faster the pressure changes, the faster the winds will be...
    Example using current prog chart:

And they are letting me stay the night here with a shower in the morning and all the vending food I can buy, I will have ro put this on the" places we go" thread. Well I'm off to the pillow:biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518:.

How did you do driving through that hurricane A.T.? I think the wind was the worst weather condition I hated driving through! Everything else is a little more predictable. In places like Nebraska it's pretty straight forward. There is no little canyons or nooks and crannies in which the wind gets funneled through like in Wyoming. Once that wind gets funneled then it really increases the pressure/speed. It sucks to because you are not expecting it. All of a sudden "WHAM" and you are sideways! Scares the #### out of you!
