I don't know about the white sheets thing but guys it is a really good idea to have a carbon monoxide detector in your truck. You can get one at WAlmart and they run about $20-30. It looks just like a smoke detector. It could save your life! There have been a lot of incidents in which a driver has an exhaust leak and while they are parked for the night they die in their sleep. On a lighter note, another good thing to put in your truck, especially during the winter is carpet. You can buy a really cheap 6x6 piece of carpeting at walmart and cut it to fit your truck floor. $12 tops and it keeps your truck really nice. When it gets dirty probably every three months just throw it out and get a new one. Winter time can wreak havoc on the inside of your sleeper. Not to mention the mud, oil, diesel and yes pee-pee you get on your feet in the parking lot! One more thing, be careful what you put under your bed. In the winter stuff can freeze under there. Soda, good clothing, etc... can get ruined. Oh sorry one more, keep your products that are plastic bottles like pepto, shampoo, cough syrup etc... in ziplock bags. When you go over the mountains they will explode and leak all over the place! Good luck guys! Great job A.T.!

So after my 34 + a few hour reset in NJ I woke up freezing and went to turn on the light and nothing ####! lol
So after 5 min of trying to figure out how to get out of the sleeper (couldnt find the middle of the curtin lol) I go then fumble around with the keys and then try to start my truck and nothing, WTF!
So I'm like ok Im prepared for this I got 20 foot long heavy duty jumper cables just for this reason, so I see some drivers at the fuel islands so I figured I'd ask for a jump start........this is what I got
"sorry I can't my company wont even let us jump our own"
"sorry I'm in a hurry"
"sorry I'm late I can't"
So I go in and get the number for the Petro Road Squad which is right next door at the petro TS, and the guy says "are you paying for this or is your company?" so I say "depends how much for a jump?" then he says "Well if you pay for it $35 or $70 if your company pays for it" so then I say "Well I guess they're going to have to pay for it, I don't have that much" so he says "how much do you have" i say "$31" he says "close enough". So 5 min later the guy shows up in a freakin pickup and a CHEVY at that, so I say "your gonna try to jump it with that?" he says "ya why not?" so I say "you'll see"........30 min later hes still dicking around trying to jump it so I can missoula to find out what I need to do. And me and the guy in missoula had a laugh over the dumb butt trying to jump my truck with a little pickup and long story short I got it going and left the horrible state of NJ.......I get to the waste management place in NC and unload then dead head all the way back to conover.
Then I dropped my trailer and went to have my truck fixed, and they didn't have the parts yet............and he tested the batteries and it turns out it died because you need to idle 30-45 min to recharge your batterys an and I was only letting it do it for 15 min to save on idle time. So that whole mess was my fault lol, but it only cost me $31 and W/S didn't have to pay a dime lol.
Then since they can't fix my truck yet I get a load going back to NJ, So I grab and empty and haul butt to Eden, NC and do a drop and Hook at the miller brewery. And I got to meet BNR32 and another W/S driver, she comes over and asked me to help her.....she's been driving 14 years and wanted me to help her measure the bridge on the trailer, so I help.
Then I grab my trailer and fight the tandem pins and slide them, to 41' thinking that should be close, so I take off with just a little time left on my 14 to head to the TS for the night, even though the load delivers noon the next day, I told dispatch and he says no big deal just call me in the am and let me know when to change the apt time to. So i need a cat scale and I couldn't get to the one closest to Miller (long story dont ask) so I just kept going to the TS well there was only 1 scale to get by and wouldnt you know it was 500 feet before the TS exit and it was OPEN! and I was going to bypass it but going around on RT24 but I didnt have enough hours, So i crossed my fingers and hoped it would be closed. Well it was open and I got to pull around back and bring in my paper work YAY. Turns out the DOT guy was cool he showed me my weights so I could write them down and go slide my axles and leave, No ticket and he didnt even want to look at the paper work I brought in (looking really young pays off somtimes) hehehe. Anyway so I go out and fight with the trailer no go.........so I ask another driver for help, 35 min later with me,him, my fifth wheel puller and my BIG hammer we got the tandems to slide and off I went. My 14 ran out at 9:15 PM, I pulled into the TA at 9:15 PM.
Next morning I weight myself at the cat scale, then head out I call dispatch let him know whats up with the time, no answer so I leave a message on my 5th call, Then I get a call about 1pm from helena, MT asking when I'll be there I tell him 4pm he says ok and hangs up. I keep going get fuel and call the customer at 2PM because I need there address...he tells me how to get there then tells me they stop receiveing at 2PM and I'm still 2 hours away! So I call dispatch and I will deliver in the morning............Oh and RT220 in VA while your loaded HEAVY 79,840lbs sucks, the speed limit was 55 I couldn't do more then 20 MPH in 7th gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol it took me 2.5 hours to go 62 miles to the TS plus the time at the Weigh Station
Anyway so now I'm back at the same TS I did my 34 at waiting 15 hours till I can go deiliver.
Then hopfully back to NC to get my truck fixed and then west to make money cuz I got bills to pay and no money to do it with haha

I will be in Missoula. Just wanted to know if I should bother bringing my laptop while I'm there. Also, I asked earlier about things I should bring other than Winter clothes.
