It doesnt work like that here, I'll do a LTL run and get a back haul back to NC, then another LTL run out. IF i were to do the regional LTL thing i could be home most weekends and do LTL all week.
But now I do 40%LTL and 60% Truck load which is alright, and i stay out for months at a time.
I dont like the Finding 10-25 customers, getting a big truck into 10-25 customers that arent big enough for a straight truck, unloading 10-25 stops worth of furniture that weighs 4-10 times my weight, haveing to pay for showers 3-4 times a week since the miles are low on LTL runs very few fuel stops, i dont like haveing to find a place to park at 6pm after working 12 hours only to find no truck stops or all of them are fullDont get me wrong its great money, but i'll try to stick to 5 or less stops per run
I dont need high blood pressure like you said im young, i'd like to not look like im 60 when im 40

Got the trailer all fixed up, only took 30 minutes. Had to rewire the front of the trailer from the back of the plug on the front of the trailer to where it goes into the wall (about a foot of wire for the front lights) then while he was doing that i relooked at the light on the back and my temp fix was still working, but now that it wasnt 3am i could see that it was a light issue not a blub issue so i grabbed the one out of the truck and changed it.
Total $65 +/- and 30 minutes not to bad
It was funny after he replaced the wire, he's like "#### it still aint workin"
i just kinda looked at him......and said "ummm you might wanna reconnect that ground wire or nothing is going to work" and he was like "oh......that might help haha"

ok back to your favorite kind of post;
I got all 6 of my stops off today, New Orleans is NOT a truck friendly place. And just as a note: a Big truck WILL NOT fit on Bourbon St. I dont care who the customer is, it aint gonna happen. Luckily for them, they were at a corner of Bourbon and something else that was SLIGHTLY bigger then Bourbon, when i say slightly.....I mean I took 3 lanes to swing onto this road, everyone had to move away from the bus stop so i could use IT to make the turn and STILL only cleared the Fire Hydrant by 3" and the signs on the right by 2". and had at best 6" of clearance on either side going down the road between me and cars, awnings on building and what ever else.
Other then the roads thats no one should ever have to take a truck on.....All 6 stops came off pretty easy and quick. Lots of very tight areas today though.
Anyway I'm 18 miles from my next stop in Denham Springs, LA at the pilot. I have a bunch of stops all pretty close together tomorrow so i should be able to and need to do 2 of wensdays stops tomorrow.
P.S i hate this pilot, way to small of parking lot, spots are set up so that when this place gets full of trucks in Made up spots that everyone on this side will not be able to get outand they only have 3 showers, which also suck.
Hopeing for a better day tomorrow

Yup. Glad to see you're back to your old self.
I couldn't agree with you more about New Orleans. There are 800 streets and trucks only fit clean down 4 of them. When I was there last month I hit more curbs trying to navigate through there than I could count. I'm amazed I didn't have 18 flat tires.
At least the curbs are nicely worn down.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
I had 7 stops to do today, i did 10. Now there is a CHANCE that i may get all of wen stops done tomorrow! yay we'll see.
Worst case i'll have 2 stops left for thursday instead of just one, they are both in houston so not a big deal. Allot more crazy tight places and customers that need to get smacked and what not but 10 stops is a great day
$20 x 10 = $200
138 miles x .32cpm = $44.16
------------------------------
$244.16 and only logged 5.5 hours! = $44.39/ Hour! I like those numbers haha
Only 5 stops left!
