My Experiance with Watkins Shepard!

I was told by another W/S that we get paid routed miles not the miles that you actully drive but that could be wrong.........

I have EZpass for Scales and PrePass for weigh stations

I write down the route from the QC and Compare it to what my GPS says, Most of the time there the same but every now and then the GPS has a better route and thats what I'll do if everything checks out in the Road Atlas. I have had trips with 175 more miles then what the QC said it was going to be and they haven't said anything.

Like my last trip for example I followed there Directions EXACTLY and my odometer still said I did 75 more miles then the QC said it would be .......

The only thing I pay for is scales which are reinbursed. And every now and then I'll need some oil or somthing and that is reinbursed as well.

I have PrePass and EZPass


Payday is every friday, BUT Your paycheck will only have what ever was turned into MISSOULA, MT by 3pm on the friday before. So like me I just dropped my stuff off at Conover, NC on friday so they won't get it by 3 PM friday so it will be on the paycheck after next.....It kinda sucks but you get your money either way just somtimes not the week after you earned it lol

So I took exactly a 10 hour break last night and I only had 9.75 hours left on my 70 until Midnight Sunday night/Monday Morning. So I ran exactly 9.5 hours + the pre trip = 9.75 I pulled into the T/S with 1 minute to spare.

So all day I was husteling to get as far as possible my average speed today was 62.94 mph woo hoo a new record (it was very easy I was at a T/S 5 feet from the HiWay and I didn't get off the Interstate for 9.5 hours lol) I did take a few breaks at rest areas though but thats off duty anyway...I also ran more miles today then I ever have (in a truck) 598 miles!

So with being so tight on hours, I was kinda worried about finding a spot to park this time of night out here in the sticks................I was about 10 miles from this T/S (NOTE: It is pitch black outside and the sky is all cloudy) and I could see this Bright white spot up in the clouds, and I thought to myself (hmmm that can't be the T/S i'm trying to get to is it ...............Yep it was, it was IOWA 80 The Largest Truck Stop in the world! finnally after all these years of hearing about it, seeing pictures, watching video of it, and looking at there website I finnally got here and to make it even better I'm doing a 34 hour reset so I have Plenty of time to check everything out. This place is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you get the lame joke about me being worried about finding a spot????????????? Because theres only 800 spots here


And it is sooo windy here it feels like someone keeps backing into my truck lol my truck is rocking back and forth pretty good. And its FREEZING here, by the time I got to the building (quite the walk) I was frozen lol It's like im back in vermont again.

And today while I was driving I was thinking, I haven't crossed a scale since I've been back on the road since LAST sunday lol every scale has been either closed or 3 of them I got the green light to pass it.

Now because I ran so hard last night and today, I'm only 4 hours 222 miles away from my first stop. Then after that I have to go 2 hours 15 minutes farther north for a 7am FIRM apt on tueseday (I wonder if I can get them to receive it on monday ) And I'll have done a reset!

Nope, I'll get to drool all over the chrome and lights, and walk around the museum and I might even take my truck over to the truck wash and see if she looks any better after someone waxes that ##* lol Who knows it'll take me all day to see everything......
