so did you say you are resetting in the middle of your drops or before? i just finally sat down and actually looked at where mine are, its over 600 miles of driving just between the 6 stops+another 150ish tomorrow just to get to the first one...and im down to 13.25 hours hahaha. dont have any coming back to me until wednesday, so i might have to just do the first 3 or 4 tomorrow and see where im at, use the next day with whatever hours are left just to get down to the other side of the state, then when i get 10 hours back thursday i can finish it and go home.
i feel sorry for you getting these loads all the time, screw this hahaha way too much thinking and planning involvedAmerican-Trucker Thanks this. -

So I just finished doing what I do best (Crunch Numbers) and here it is:
- I'm 37 miles from my Receiver Roughly 37 minutes
- My receiver is also going to be my first shipper so no driving involved
- Then 8 miles roughly 15 minutes to my second stop
- Then 265 miles roughly 4 hours 49 minutes to my third stop
- Then 79 miles roughly 1 hour 25 minutes to my forth stop
- Then 20 miles roughly 29 minutes to my fifth stop
- Then 99 miles roughly 1 hour 58 minutes to my sixth stop
- Then 8 miles roughly 17 minutes to my seventh stop
- Then 31 miles roughly 45 minutes to my eighth stop
- Then 195 miles roughly 3 hours 32 minutes to the Indianapolis, IN Terminal
- Then 550 miles roughly 9 hours 11 minutes to the Conover, NC terminal
TOTAL: 1292 Miles 23 Hours 45 Minutes of Drive Time
Plus:
15 Minutes minimum at each stop: .25x8=2 Hours
15 Minutes minimum unloading in the morning
15 Minutes minimum at the Indianapolis, IN Terminal
15 Minutes minimum each day for Pre-Trip:.25x3=45 Minutes
15 Minutes minimum for each fuel stop (amount Unknown)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL: 3 Hours 30 Minutes Minimum On Duty Not Driving Time
Plus: Two 10 Hour Breaks!
Thats also not including: Scales, Getting lost, Construction, Slow people, accidents, break downs, Breaks, Tire Checks, going 20mph up even the slightest little hill, and any other unexpected and unplanned time!
So with all that in mind according to my calculationsI should get to Conover, NC between 12PM and 3PM On Thursday!
And all the hold hands out here whine all day about us "new" truckers not knowing how to do anything other then hold the wheel and follow the GPS, Do you know what I've got to say to them?????

In the old days we could make 37 stops over 3 states, and be back home within 5 minutes and 15 seconds of when we said we would, with no map.

If I had 5 log books like you had I could do that too! haha
Thats 90% GPS routing, I do my Estimated times with the GPS because its allways 100% of the time with 15 minutes of what it takes, BUT I can often find short cuts with my map, so If I plan my time with the GPS and run with the map I will be there early and have time left over lol I like to plan for the worse case scenario that way I'm always happy with the results haha

thats why i tell everyone to get freakin internet, i google my stuff too. even with that im betting money i get myself into at least a few tight spots on all these. but if you can combine to google, talk to the reciever-i like to have the screen up so i can say for example, you are next to such and such in the purple dinosaur shaped building? ok. and you got to plan the route so you can babysit the gps woman, i seem to get it worse than anyone but she has gotten me into more trouble than even i can get myself into, and yes i do have a truck gps.
someday i will post the story of how she sent me out into the woods by flagstaff. to this day i dont know how i ever made it out, but i was seriously in the process planning how to tell w/s i quit and their truck is stuck in the middle of an f'in forest haha. it was bad.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Don't feel bad me and My Rand McNally TND 700 fight and argue with eachother all the time, BUT unlike a real woman I win everytime.
Like my Tech School teacher used to say "You have GOT to be smarter then the Tool!" and "GI-GO (Garbage In Garbage Out)" Refering to calulators or any other computerized tool it can only give you the right answer if you give it the right information and enter it properly lol
American Truckerwalstib Thanks this.
