I got to Liverpool, NY at 9:15am on friday morning, and my apt. time is 2AM saturday morning, So I tried to call the customer to see if I could deliver early and they said they had a full schedual so they couldn't. So I've been at this Pilot (the only (Big) T/S for 40 miles) for about thirteen hours lol

They have a McDonalds at this one and they are giving a 15% discount to anyone with a CDL! not sure if they're all doing this or not but it was nice to save a little money for a change lol

I'm guessing I'll have to come back here to the T/S after I deliver and sit here till monday morning, but I got my fingers crossed :biggrin_2559: that maybe someone will find me a load today....I can only hope!:biggrin_25523:

Luckily no snow up here, yet.

I drove 645 miles on thursday! I think thats a new record for me:biggrin_255:.

AT...saw a comment from you on another thread and want to ask about miles. Read you're kind of stuck until you can unload.

Could you explain "practical" miles versus the other types. I'd like to understand that a bit better. Everyone else may know it, but I don't.

    Thanks,
    Merlin

    Thanks,

Its how they calculate your Paid mileage, Some companies use whats called HHG miles (House Hold Movers Miles), some use practical, and some (very few) use HUB miles which is the actull amount of miles you run according to your odometer.

Practical miles If I remember correctly are calculated useing there routeing, you make more money when your getting paid Practical miles instead of HHG miles. Because HHG miles are just zip code to zip code you lose allot of money there.

HHG miles are kind of like Per Diem pay, its just another way for a carrier to try and skimp on your paycheck.

Hope this helps, if I remembered Practical miles wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me lol

i dont think so i was the first truck in there today. the snow sucks every truck including me, kept pulling in onto what i think may have been a field instead of going under the bridge on broadwater. i parked at the end and walked down and it didnt look like i could go so i turned around and went in what i assumed was an entrance because there were tracks. not a good idea. i thought for a second i was going in the ditch because its a crazy angle if you come south. i kept trying to tell the other trucks then i remember my cb dont work haha.

im going back to colorado i just have to get my oil changed and everything tomorrow since no one was at the shop today. i wanted to get out of dodge because last i checked its snowing tomorrow and sunday up here.

I thought we got paid practical miles but Truckerdaddy24 told me yesterday its hub miles....Which is good, now I have one more reason to like W/S.
