Watch out buying DVD's! You'd be surprised how much it adds up to in a year! Our accountant informed us we spent over $4000 in a year on DVD's! Make some rules for yourselves. Unless you run a 3000 mile week you are not allowed to buy a DVD.
A.T. part of your sitting is due to the holidays. You might be out there working but no one in your office is! Another way to really help yourself is as soon as you get a load let your DM know when you can be there. Give them an ETA and have them start working on another load. Your DM should be pre-setting you with at least one load if not more. They aren't doing their job correctly if not. Ask for a DM that can handle it. As long as you are giving them your ETA's and hours available there should be no reason for sitting, unless you have pee'd them off! You are going to starve out there sitting at truck stops for 72hrs. and buying DVD's! Hell, I would have sold an owner op my fuel by now! lol!

thats why i say download movies, its freeeee...especially if you want bluray crap thats like 30 bucks a disc?? get real. grab a terabyte drive and load up and you can watch all the hd goodness you want without paying a dime. so when i go to sell my fuel its all profit!
its also a good time to buy a nice lcd gang! i got a 24" 1080p thing for like $240. and 50 for a nice wall mount.wulfman75 Thanks this. -

Ya I know the holiday Screwed me big time...we dont have DM's. We have 7 dispatchers that take care of everyone, we're on Regional dispatch so depending on where you are at the time you have a differant dispatcher...
When I hook to a load I get it there ASAP regardless of weather or not the customer wants or is willing to take it early. I don't waste time period!
I do let dispatch know as soon as I know when I will be empty and what I;ll have for hours. Im not sure what they do as far a pre planning. But I seem to be doing a LOT of sitting...
And as far as I know I haven't pissed anyone off....I'm always on time if not early and I've never turned down a load....

So I got a load at 9am this morning and its was the customer I figured I'd be getting loaded from....
I ran almost all the way there today and I have until the 12/02 to get it there! This is starting to get rediculous every single load for the last week or two has been like this....
I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if I can deliver early, if not I'll have run 1400 miles in 7 days
I'm now sitting in a parking spot that I created here at the TA.....My trucks got a crazy Gangsta Lean right now lol Its going to be like sleeping while standing up.....Everytime I go to stand up I almost fall over. But this is the only T/S for 50 miles and theres NO room...soooo I made room haha I DARE someone to come tell me to move, They will NOT be happy with my answer
This place is a mess there are trucks literaly parked on the sidewalk and anywhere they can get there truck into
