i was thinking of making a thread for us to share our input on how to slide tandems on some of this ridiculous equiptment. im getting pretty good at it i think. the 2 ive picked up since then are almost as bad. when i was at sfs this morning i was digging for a good trailer and the yard guy made me take this one. if you were there and heard a bunch of racket that was be beating the #### out of the stuck pin.

and of course im getting all the places where they make you slide the tandems this week.

but i guess the only real trick i have is wiggle it and hope for the best, then beat the crap out of the stuck pins with a hammer, and with some you have to wedge a screwdriver or something in to keep the handle from going down and it getting stuck all over again. when i picked up that 2072, thats what i did. spent like half an hour finally got the pins all out, went to slide, went 1 hole and lever popped out and guess what they were stuck all over again.

and dont be under the trailer when you whack it, all the dirt and stuff will fall on you.

vise grip is your tandem sliding friend--pull the handle--clamp on the vice grips so the handle cant pop in and away you slide

well a lot of them like the utilitys have those slots where they stay put most of the time but those stupid ### fruehoff whatever things came with some sort of locking mechanism thats missing on all of them but theres 2 holes where it was you can stick something in...i will try my vice grips as a backup thats a good idea. i used a bungee once, that way doesnt work quite so well.

ive been out 2 weeks today and havnt reset once. but my miles havnt been as good. i dont keep track but somewhere between 5000-5500 going by where i think my odometer was. 3rd <300 mile load in a row isnt helping matters either but i love the warmer weather. so i will run from LA to vegas until spring if they want.
