Oh ya Definitely comfortable, It wasn't hard at all if you spend just a few minutes studying the charts then listen to the instructor you'll be just fine. It sounds like it's going to be so hard but it is just as easy up and down shifting on a grade as it is on flat ground. Thats why I figured I would be specific about how it works on here so that everyone can see it is really nothing to worry about.

Now that you've done it, you wonder "what's so hard about that?" It's what everybody worries about the most, and it's one of the easier things to do...I do it now without thinking about it. It ain't nothing but a thing anymore...LOL

Ok, you're right about the 18 thangs...since the KW is an 18 speed. However, I drive it more like a 10 speed...LOL. I don't split the low range at all, and only split the top 2 gears of the high range....

In Missoula, they count the weekend, so actually only 8 days of orientation, but I'm not sure about Conover. Probably the same....

    Busy Day!

Woke up around 10am, left the hotel at 10:45am with 3 other guys to go practice shifting and backing, then we went out for a quick lunch (1:45pm) after dropping one guy at the hotel, hit walmart, then back to the terminal for more practice at like 3pm until 5:45pm, then back to the hotel, hit walmart again lol

Then Crfingnutz and I went over to Hickory Motor Speedway (it's right around the corner from the Hotel) to watch the East Coast Flat Head Series race/ Some other Series race/ and the ISCARS series race. We got there and sat down, then we hear someone yelling to us, it was Vern who is the Head of the Safety Department on the East Coast for Watkins Shepard Trucking lol. He invited us over to sit with him where he said "all the action happens" he was talking about turns 1 and 2 and he was right. It was a great race, and for $10 it was even better haha.

We're planning on going back to the Terminal All Day tomorrow for more practice.
