The back part will never get better with LTL trucks!! What kills my back is trailer doors while running p/d.

Used to do P&D in a cabover with no power steering or a/c, and swing door trailers. Spring ride with 144" wheel base. Usually 15-30 P&Ds a day. Too old to do that now.

It must of been tough. Ive heard that from of the senoir guys at my barn. They did like how the cabovers were very manueveravble, and had a bench to lie on during break. Also heard they didnt have pallet jacks either and some times would have to break down the skids and move every thing my hand truck.

Yeah, worked out of union hiring hall in '77. That's day work for those that don't know. They would give you a Freightliner COE to peddal with. The one with the 'tank gunner slits' for windows. Such a joy.:biggrin_25513:

Next time pull over and run around the truck a few times - worked for me when I use to drive at night.

Ok.....gotta say it.....BORING!!! Don't get me wrong, it must b nice to have a regular schedule, but it reminds me of my days in the tire plant. Sounds like its going well so far tho. How long would it take to get on day shift?
