I didn't really see it as whining.
I do see them having a valid point about jumping around from company to company, though. You are probably limited on how many more times you can do that before no one will hire you anymore. -
I also wanted to note that i DO miss Flatbedding, and i DO miss being OTR. I miss my Big Red Sexy Peter, i miss watching the sun rise and set over a differant city every day, and im sure im going to miss that Lone Star money too lol
BUT i also missed seeing my family, seeing my freinds, useing my boat, sleeping in my own bed, takeing a shower WITHOUT sandals on, useing CLEAN bathrooms, fishing, watching the NASCAR race EVERY weekend, working on projects (jacking up/restoreing my truck, cars etc), Eating real home cooked food, etc. And while im sure alot of you may disagree with this but Being single isnt fun, when you live in a truck and are only home for a few days every few weeks its hard to meet and retain a relationship....
Not 100% sure where my trucking career is going to take me (local, OTR, O/O, NASCAR, Fuel Hauling, etc) im only 22, i've got plenty of time to figure out what i want to do.
American Truckersewerman, CenutryClass, epimax and 2 others Thank this. -

Billy is listed with the #81 in 18th place in owners points , no #51 listed.
And no #51 at last race in Kansas http://www.jayski.com/news/campingworld/2012/story/_/page/2012cts04kansas-entry even though your link said so . -
i donno maybe im getting my numbers mixed up, my dad was throwing out team names and numbers that ive never heard of, i only follow the cup series. I know the #51 was one of them, perhaps Nationwide?
I'll have to ask for more info. when i get more info i'll post it.

This myth about job hopping and ruining your career is kind of like beating a dead horse. I'm not saying that job hopping is something you should build your career on, but come on guys for god's sake we've chosen trucking as a career, not quite the CEO/COO route where a resume' really speaks for something.
What means something in trucking? A clean license, plain and simple. Job hopping might lessen your chances with a UPS/Conway/Roadway job persay, but in all reality if you go in to most, with an emphasis on most, trucking companies with a clean license, and now more importantly a clean CSA score you're going to get picked up, you might get a lecture or a question about your job history but for the most part their insurance company is going to love you and that's the bottom line.
So I think we can kind of put this theory to rest, I'm no cheerleader for AT, he says things that rub people the wrong way, but he's still learning......something we've all done for years and continue to do. Let's look at the stats like he's stated; he went from WS to probably one of the most respected flatbed companies in the industry(LS) and then was able to secure a job while on hometime with CT. The underlying factor remains that he, and so many others of us on this board are attractive to companies hiring because it is becoming harder and harder to find drivers with a clean record.
And the McDonalds statement is pretty stupid, if you keep your record clean and can't find a job trucking that's on you, not because you've had a "few" jobs. The Challenger, Treefork, American-Trucker and 5 others Thank this. -
sure you can get a job with a clean record, but good ones get rare the more you jump around.
i guess it depends on what is defined as a good job, following your line of reasoning , then the outfit in florida should welcome you back, unless your license isnt clean -
I have had 8 jobs in 7 years, I am only 27, and I still got hired at US Foods. Local trucking companies like experience, and a clean record, and endorsements. if you have all of them, no one cares about having a bunch of jobs in your background. Especially after the last 5 years of bad economy, having 2 jobs at the same time to get enough work in is not uncommon.
#### it, at least you are getting doubles experience at CT, like you said. UPS and ABF like that experience, and at least CT could be a stepping stone..... -
already gone Thanks this.
