If the truck you are driving has a Mercedes engine, you are most likely losing coolant because of a headgasket. While the engine is running, look behind the turbo and see if the block is wet.

its right there in the office but i forgot to ask for it, i havent gotten a "check" since i was 16 lol. I'm not used this crap. and we dont "clock in" we work and then go home, not clocks, no computers, no quailcomm, no GPS tracking, once we leave a terminal they have NO idea where there trucks/trailers are, or anything else for that matter nor do they have a way to get ahold of you while driving haha. the closest thing we have is a handheld scanner that we log into which is how the keep track of our hours and how we dispach ourselves but no formal time clock or anything. and it only works at terminals, so like at the meet, we have to call into dispatch to let them know we are there, then call back when we get our trailer to tell them what trailer we have.

Geez, I feel like such a slacker compared to everyone else here. Work graveyards (generally) shunting 1 night, and relief the other 4. A shunt shift might have 25 yard moves, and relief maybe 2 in town shuttles, and we think we have it bad....

Yea that no GPS, no tracking stuff is nice right. We dont have any gps's in the trucks or trackers for our P/D units at YRC. We had them but by contract with union they took them out. As per contract we cannot be disciplined for that. We have a nextel phone that has all our stops, pickups and all it tells the dispatcher that we are enroute or at stop, doesnt tell them where we are or what roads we took...

CWF and Old dominion have their trucks all wired front to trailer with GPS and trackers... Line-haul there isnt any of that used since you dont really clock into the scanner.

IDK how YRC does their line-haul but at CWF you start filling out your pay sheet to get it ready, then they will tell you clock in, you go hook your sets, then clock out and are paid for trip. then once you get to hub you clock back in, drop trailers, and go to shop or fuel etc... then you use your id punch in to FAC dock and then clock out on pay sheet, once down on dock you punch pay sheet then clock out of dock, hook, clock out and drive back and whatever... And you have to ask for your check?! What kind of sheet is that... fedex my boss would give it to me once I walked in, CWF the boss would always make sure we had it before anything, and at YRC the shop steward gives it to us...
