you are weird! lol I would rather do a 8-10 hour round trip then go home rather then 8 hours on the dock. The dock work isnt hard, it just isnt fun like driving is.

Congratulations on the new gig. I hope this company turns out to be career employment rather than just a job. Please keep us posted.

The one thing that fascinates me is the four videos on unions? Is it a union shop? If not, what is the purpose of that?

Anyway, good luck in your new adventure.

No they're non union, the videos are Anti-Union videos, theyre purpose is to explain why they are not union, why a union isnt good for employees, and why almost every union trucking company in the history of trucking has gone under because of the unions. I've worked at a few places that show these videos.

as it should be, Unions had their place back in the day, but now all they do is run companies into the ground....

Or they side with and consult management on everything. I was a Teamster at Coke for 2.5 years and the union was a joke. You'd go to the union with something and they'd call management and go with whatever they said it should be. Good times.

profit margin in trucking is way to narrow to be dealing with Union BS, its amazing that UPS is still around, then again they are allways expanding and they do have a LARGE non union side of the company too....

Personally I think there's a balance. Right now, OTR truckers could benefit from a union - but only if it's not run and staffed by self-serving, high paid officials. What I don't like about unions is that priority is by seniority rather than ability. Longevity is rewarded, while knowledge, skill and ability is ignored.
