I guess I'm losing my mind or I no longer know how to read a calendar. I had it in my mind delivery in Vineland was Wednesday morning based on how a read the preplan and glanced at the calendar. But looking at the delivery date on the load dispatch, it's due Thursday morning (which I can do).

I guess I knew I was going to have to sit an entire day (Monday) out of hours and I could not imagine them scheduling a load with the ability to sit an entire day. Old age? Senility? Road stress? "old-timers disease"?

This will put me at 5456 miles, with still 5 days to go in the 2 week pay period.

I've thought about doing something like that pretty much exactly. Why pay for somewhere you're gonna be for less than a week a month?

That's what I did. An $80 per month storage unit and a $45 mobile phone are my only bills .

I also made sure to get a residency/Drivers license in an income tax free state

My only regret was I didn't do it sooner.
Plus being a truck driver we could end up
    Working for a company that's a 1000 miles away
    From where we live.
No problem, hook up the rv and find a place
30 minutes away from the terminal if you want.
It has huge advantages over being locked
    Into one location.

Turbodriven, jeff18 and 417bigK Thank this.

I came off home time at beginning of this 2 week pay period. When I deliver in Idaho Monday, that will be 7,850 miles for the pay period [with no carry over] and was actually pretty easy all running pretty much the schedule I prefer to run.

But honestly, I'd rather run about 20% fewer miles for 20% more money.

At the Yard for truck repairs. Been waiting for 2 months for a A/C condenser for 2018 Freightliner. They didn't have any nation wide for that long.

I agree with you. My company is 2 off for every week out. I generally run 4 to 5 weeks out then take 9 days off.
