Hey, where's my bologna samdwich? I am freakin' starving! I got into the T/A just as the restaurant was closing last nite, so no food for me last nite! I had to settle for the Waffle House(yuck!).
On a sidenote, why would a t/s close their restaurant at nite? Trucking is 24/7. Talk about crappy customer service!
I am sitting at the T/A this a.m.. I havnt delivered yet as I have an open appt from 0700-1400. Told dispatch I wasnt going to deliver until 1330 or they found me a reload, whichever came first. Why should I start the clock to deliver until I have another load? From the way he talked to me this morning, I am betting I wont get a load today!

Can you tell me a summary of what you think driving Legal is like to date?
I am just curious, and I am not making fun in anyway!
I was just wondering what you thought now?

I tried running 100% legal a few years back. It was as bad as what you are doing, and my company threatened to fire me(shoreline) if I didn't pick up the pace. You are going broke, and at a fast pace, what's plan B.
Sorry about the sandwhich, the bologna was green..........

I managed to drive 1920 ACTUAL miles, pay miles will be 2-3% less. I was on duty 57.5 hours out of 144 . Basing my pay on ACTUAL miles at $.34/mile, I earned appox. $652.80, BEFORE TAXES! or about $11.35/hr!
The only loads I turned down were loads that I could not legally p/u or deliver on time. My feeling is that as a "professional", I am worth at least twice that amount. My average mileage before I started.running "legal" was almost 3000/week! I believe my experience this week was normal and what we can expect in the future. Unless changes are made at the customers where we p/u and deliver, or drivers are paid more for driving less (dont hold your breath waiting for that to happen!) I will have to leave driving by the end of the year or go baknrupt trying to hold on!

Is anyone interested in me continuing this thread?

I am going to continue running legal no matter what, and I would be willing to keep reporting my numbers if anyone wants to know.

Keep it up, Dave. I've always tried to run legal, but I consider a $400 paycheck to be pretty decent money. What can I say, I live in an area where minimum wage is the local religion. $400/wk bring home is twice what I can expect around here.
