Don't care about a load. A set of triples has about 70 revenue producing shipments on it for an average. I could care less what you drive or what you pull but you should be compensated for all work that you perform for your employer. I cannot believe another driver would argue me on this point. If you're an owner/operator, why would you dispute the fact all drivers should demand pay for work performed? Would that not allow you to charge for time? Unreal..
My experience running 100% legal, if anyone cares.

How could any driver dispute my position that all drivers should be compensated for all time devoted to a company? And O/O's wouldn't you benefit from company drivers getting a decent wage for time spent on line 4 for their company?Gearjammin' Penguin, AnotherFool and rjones56 Thank this. -
Jakebrake I agree with you 100%. I work for an LTL company but completely different from what you do. Even though it's completely different because we run OTR and Regional LTL we still get paid for everything we do. I think most drivers feel like it's easier to pizz and moan because they have been brainwashed by these super carriers and truckers with the gloom and doom that it just don't get any better than this. As you and I know it does. I also agree with the poster that stated there are not enough of these jobs for everyone but at the same time at least stand up for yourself and have enough respect for yourself to get paid for what you do. Why is it that us drivers can't stick together for the benefit of all of us? I don't get it. Just my $.02Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
Thank you. Isn't it amazing how much better your outlook becomes when you are compensated for all time at a fair rate?
You have echoed my point. Are there enough of these jobs? Probably not, and as long as drivers are willing to work for no hourly compensation there never will be. In fact, the longer drivers allow these companies to get away with it, they will become fewer and farther between. This all stems from my thread http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...om-new-drivers/90356-what-are-your-goals.html when I called out a student at Werner for calling me an idiot.
I wish drivers would wake up and understand they possess a skill that should be compensated at a better rate. It amazes me when the drivers I'm an advocate for call me whatever they want to call me and dispute what I'm saying. I'll be the first to say I'm arrogant, a bit aloof, ####y, and set in my opinions but I've earned the position I'm in by making very good decisions since age 18.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
