do yourself a huge favor and do at least a month in p2. if your p2 trainer doesn't teach you well enough about running the truck as a business or is not profitable themselves ask for a different trainer.

    AchioteCoyote Thanks this.

Good to read your posts again Carrot Top.Hope you are doing well. Is the phase 2 training used mostly as running as a team, and learning how to run the truck as a buisness? Again good luck, and hope the miles are good.

p2 is supposed to teach about the business side of running a truck plus run as a team. give a person a little more time behind the wheel with another driver before they get on their own.

it also helps the p2 trainer to get their business off the ground by running as a team (team miles) and it helps that person interact with a virility of people as a teacher so they can hopefully move on to a p1 trainer.

Well I'm on my way home for a couple of days to see the family and pick up my license. I do believe England shows a little more of their true selves once you go in for upgrade. Prior to doing my 30 days phase 1, we were told we could go home for 4 days no questions asked to see the family and get our license. They then decided to tell us to have it fed exed to us in Dallas and not go home at all. It was at that point several of us stood up for ourselves and told them we wanted our alotted home time. They were mad but said ok but we had to pay our own way. They are definitely gonna push you as much as they can and if you don't stick up for yourself nobody else will. So after I get home I will either get on a truck at the Atlanta yard in Forrest Park or go to Burns Harbor. I am not complaining but rather explaining the recent events. I did pass my upgrade road evaluation and other tests to go p2. Good luck & be safe!

The DMV mails the license to your address of record ... someone would then need to overnite it.

Sounds like you know most of the in's and out's there at CRE. ya might be just the person to direct my questions to... so here goes...
first, I've had my CDL for 12 + years now. Flat bed, refer box and food grade tanker experience. Leaving on 03/12/2011 for B-Harbor In. for what is supposed to be a 4 day orientation? then become a Co. driver doing regional routes out of Smithfield Va. ( 25 min. from my home 20) It all sounds like a pretty cozy niche to me? My biggest concern is how strict is CRE on the health exam with their policy of " Blood presure no higher than 140 over 90" are they? mine does tend to run a little high. last time I was checked (11/2010) it was 143 over 88. would this disqualify me and since they paid for the bus ticket from Va.- In. am I now stuck in B-Harbor?
Any insight on this would be helpful thanx.
