Ok here we are week 3 so far sorry trying to keep updated internet sucks for me went thru att anyways here we go. Monday week 3 fine tuing skills and testing on pretrip i got pretrip out of way. Tuesday official C1 test day they test you to see where you are at. I passed road skills test but failed range was suppose to retake range in the afternoon but had to take random drug test couldn't go so had to drink plenty of water didn't get done till end of day. Now wed. practice retest i passed range sent me down to take state at 12 ocklock. I passed pretrip and range the range has been thorn in my side now i hit road feeling confident and i hit #### curb auto matic failure went back to C1 they offered me more training or i could retake again i told them i would just retake again if i failed then i would take extra training session so thats where i at now just going to retest on state again and try to get it done.

They teach straight line backing, off side parking and parallel parking. This is what state requires you to be able to do along with pre trip and street driving. Ok thursday week 3 second attempt at state and i made it i got my license now i just waiting to find out when i go out with trainer i waiting at home for the call. I will continue to post thru my experiences with Pam over the road training.

How long do you have to stay with a trainer?

it depends on where you go.
ar. state U newport (still C-1 contract) are third party testers. so THEY test you for CDL ONSITE. 300 ft straight line back, right turn, "alley dock" (45* angle dock) and "serpentine (which really just a sight side blind side parallel aprk done back to back)

When I started with P.A.M., I was with a trainer for 4 weeks. That was standard procedure back then. I didn't have any issues, and the trainer was a good guy who could see it would be an easy 4 weeks for him. We just breezed through the training packet with no problems. Yes, the trainers are given a packet to follow. They are supposed to cover everything in the packet on the supplied time line.
I personally didn't know of anybody that wasn't with a trainer the full four weeks.
However, I do know of a few that didn't pass the tests at the P.A.M. home terminal, and was sent back out with a trainer.
