it doesn't have the hydraulic clutch, so when i'm trying to pull up an incline in low gear to get out of a dock, i get a lot of pedal chatter, other then that, i dont have any to say about the view.. as long as i have my chair up i can see everything just fine.. Everyone says it's bigger then the pete's and volvos, but it's not, they're all the same size.. i think the pete is bigger then the volvo though..

Mitch,
I am located in Brevard county aka the Space Coast. I grew up in the 321 area code and call it home.

there's not too many roads out there.. went to Mims once, and there was only like three ways to get there from Orlando.. it was pretty ridiculous.

yeah they pay us empty, it's a little less this our empty miles, but you have to make sure you get it all over the qualcom, if you don't then you'll be on the phone with your dm once you see your pay check.. the original plan was to dead head me from my last drop to another shipper, 267+ miles, but the preplan said that the receiver (not the shipper) wouldn't accept roll doors. reminded my DM that i had a roll door, so now they have to find me a new empty. they found me a new empty an hour west of where i was supposed to load.. i'm coming from the east which ment i had to drive past the shipper an hour, and then back an hour to load.. all before 1500hrs and it was already 0945, i told him it wasn't going to happen, not even if i bypassed my fuel stop. They ended up finding me a load an hour closer and an empty only thirty mins away from that pick up.. which means it was about 30mi deadhead round trip for the empty, but i'm pretty sure i only got miles from my last drop to the pick up.. ya may be like, "only 30mi" well that's like $8, that's my whole three weeks worth of water and random snacks from walmart that i buy everytime before i head out.. every little bit counts.

Thats just stupid, do you do anyless work to drive the truck when its MT?No. If drivers are going to be paid by the MILE they should get paid by the MILE not some miles.
American Truckertruckerdave1970 Thanks this. -
if i dont lease a truck on to Knight, i'll probably just try to go over to Indian River Transport and run tanker.. Their Terminal and main Headquaters is down the street from me, and it'll be more of a challange, cheap miles though.. heard that you're paid the same no matter if your empty or loaded, and that you wont wait for a load, they'll dead head you 1000mi if necessary.
on a deeper note, i wonder where Smaggs is, i got a mass message over QC last nite about one of our Refer drivers that died.. not sure if it was just a driver from my terminal or a terminal somewhere else.
