I had a noon appt. Got there are 1145. 1400 rolls around and i get told that my load isn't ready yet. 1600, same story, 1800 comes and they say they don't even know where my stuff is in the warehouse. 8 trucks have come and gone after me. Finally they load me around 2100. They close at 2200. While their loading me I add up all the weight and ended up being overloaded by 2,000lbs. So they have me back into the bay once more and take two skids off. As soon as I pull out of the bay they close up shop for the night. I got a 10 hour break while there so I secured the load and tarped then drive to our terminal in gary and spent the night there. Had to push my delivery appts back by a day because of the shipper.

I dread going to steel mills, not just because each one of them has different protocols you're supposed to follow (US steel ughhh) but also you never know how long the wait is going to be.
-
I sure hope you got detention for that much time!
-
Its like pulling teeth with your bare hands to get paid detention time.
Night dispatch said I won't get detention time because I got a 10 hour break in. I'll be talking to my dispatcher today to see if we can change that.
