welcome to the brand!
I got my first ever roadside dot the other day in Texas just coming out of Laredo, state trooper flipped a u and pulled me over. Probably the shiniest truck he'd ever seen in that oil field and wanted a closer look. Gave a full level 2 right there on the shoulder, measured the load, popped the hood, etc. only thing he got was a violation for air leak at the glad hand...there goes $100.

Also, any of you guys know anything about P&H in Milwaukee ? I've got to load out of there Monday and never been there before. -
...but then I don't have a sleeper to check, either. There is no reason for any cop to put himself inside my truck. -
Hi guys, a quick question or two or three if you don't mind ??
I'm coming from the world of milk tanks and reefers and are getting burnt out, looking for a change..
1st, does LS hire out of the northeast ?? I live just across the line in upstate NY if your coming out of PA on I-81, good or bad area ?? Didn't see a hiring area on the LS website unless I missed it..
2nd, how much actual tarping are y'all doing ?? I know zero about tarping loads..
3rd, how hard are they pushing you guys ?? As stated above I'm looking to slow down, ie I'm getting old !!
I've only done maybe 10 or so flat loads my entire 18 years trucking and they were favors if you know what I mean...
If I make the switch my choices are down to Keen because they are only a couple hours straight south of me and appear to be mostly all heavy equiptment (little tarping if any) and Lone Star who I'm starting to research now..
Any and all input is much appreciated..
Be safe.. -
hey flip flops just a couple guesses, yes you're in a good area, the Scranton area is where they send us when there is nothing in CT, etc. Pretty sure we tarp more than keen (not sure they do at all) but for me its pretty rare, 1 in 8-10 loads maybe. As for the miles, you bringing your own truck over? they run us company guys good.
Flip Flops Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info man much appreciated..
Negative on the truck my O/O experience ended in 2001, and it didn't end well.. LOL Would love to get back into the game as a O/O at some point though..
I read back to like page 145 last night LS sounds like a good outfit..AZS Thanks this. -
I know I love it over here. Just my .02 about the tarps...I haven't touched mine since September.
Flip Flops Thanks this. -
I begin orientation on Monday. Thanksgiving will screw up my securement training, but that's cool because since I live in New Orleans, they're allowing me to take the rental car home for Thanksgiving and told me to just make sure I'm back by the following Monday to finish the last 2 days. Not many companies would allow that. I've got to say, they've impressed me so far and I haven't even gotten there yet!
AZS, socal, Flip Flops and 1 other person Thank this. -
That sounds about right. Its my personal experience that they try hard to please the drivers. It helps that a lot of the folks at the top over here have been in our shoes.
As an aside...i learned something new today...police escort is definitely the way to ride lol.Flip Flops, The Challenger and AZS Thank this. -
What level is RGN at Lone Star? 1,2, or 3
