Ah that sucks man, truck breaking I mean, horrible place for it to happen too, you have to get towed? Good you gonna get it fixed though. That's funny about the flashing headlight! Good stuff on the miles, I got my truck at the end of April (new truck not first one) and I just went over 85K while on this trip. I went 702 miles yesterday from Sulphur Springs to El Paso, probably not many other stretches in the US where you can do that in 11 hours with a 65 mph truck lol. I had 5 mins left on my 11.

The way it cut out made me wonder if it was the panel... i had power everywhere but the ignition.... and a few months ago I had a fuse burn out, and when looking for it I pulled the ignition fuse and yesterday she reacted in the same fashion.. was a gut instinct really, after my cussing fit of course. So, I pushed in all the fuses and she started right up. Thankfully I got her back to FW and to the shop with no problems.

702... ####! Beat my record for sure! I trust you made it home today though? My girl asked if you made it safe.. I did the math and figured you'd be in tonight.

That fuse panel is in a bad spot. I kicked fuses out before stretching my leg out. I just put the fuses back in myself.

Yeah, I suspected that was the problem.. but I heard what sounded like stuff shorting in the dash as well... and wasn't sure if it was related to my lamp issue... so I had them check it out just in case. I'll know for the future though!

That's good. Gainesville should get that all fixed up for you. I had some issues with fuses on the 379 that I had as well. Yeah I was delivered by 11am and home by 2pm.

I don't know if I'd be bragging about those numbers...not including April (which was a partial month for you), I had you beat by 10,000 miles May-December working 5 days per week and home just about every night. With as much sitting around as I did this year, if I ran 10,000 fewer miles in 7 months OTR, I would've been pretty PO'd. I don't mind sitting here at the house where I've got other stuff I can be working on....but when I'm on the road, I'm out there to work.

I do think i've said tho in responses to you that my OTR time out is a personal choice. I CHOOSE to be away from home, I CHOOSE to live this way, and I CHOOSE to be happy this way. Alot of that sitting was personal choice to take 34's on weekends, getting through home on longer weekends or while on loads that had a stretch before I delivered, or oversize loads on which I couldn't move anyways thanks to wonderful state legislatures. i honestly don't care what you do or what you think of what I do or your personal opinion of how my miles turned out... what you do is what makes you happy while in turn what I do makes me happy. I did local for a spell and I HATED it... was more work than it was worth in pay. I don't like to be confrontational in the internet because it can easily be taken the wrong way or context but I would appreciate it if you would find someone else to bash because, frankly, I'm tired of hearing it.

Wow...somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! All I was pointing out was that those numbers you stated were "pretty good" weren't really all that good for an OTR truck. If that's the lifestyle you prefer, so be it...and if running those few miles and spending a lot of time sitting around in random places makes you happy, then great...keep it up. That doesn't change the fact that those numbers are low for an OTR truck...1950 miles/week average.

I work to make money to live my life...I don't live my life to work. To each their own, though.

Actually I thought he was pretty restrained seeing as you just told him his numbers sucked and he shouldn't be proud of it. I paraphrased a bit but that was the message I got. If he's happy then good for him.
