Last night i parked at the Houston Terminal, left there at 930 am. And headed over to the port, got there at 1015am. left at 1215pm...so only 2 hours even without a TWIC card good deal!
Then went and dropped the trailer at the terminal (red tagged it) needs some stake pockets welded. Then i grabbed an MT, headed north 2.25 hours, to a TS buy one of our drivers houses and took his load (going to NC) and gave him a nice shinny MT. (hes on hometime)
So I have to deliver this in NC Tuesday by 10am, Its a drop n hook too, so easy as can be, all the straps stay with the trailer (the shipper loads/secures these loads that go to NC, drop n hook on both ends!
Anyhoo this is what i delivered this morning: My Very first Flatbed load
I just got off the phone with my dad, he's got a secure super secret place for me to park the truck/trailer/load, while im home. Since i have a load on i didnt want to park it at a TS. If i dont like his place, i'm going to call the KW repair shop and see if i can park there (they have a BIG ol chain link fence and an alarm.
I'm in LA somewhere, should be home 1st thing friday morning. I could have made it home tomorrow late night, but i didnt want to have to find a place to park AND get a ride home at midnight....

On monday when i got my truck, i was in the drivers lounge talking to one of our Heavy Haul guys, and i was telling him about the training in Houston, and when i told him they didnt teach anything about tarps he says "your kidding!" "Come on I'll show ya how to roll it up" and me, him, and 2 other guys went out and unrolled one of my Steel tarps and then he showed me how to roll it back up. Cool guy. Rolling it up seems easy enough. Now all i gotta do is figure out how to cover a load with it
Another thing i like about LoneStar; we can fuel where ever we want, AND they require us to LOG our Post trips. NOT our Pre-trips like most companies....Sooooo when i pull into a truck stop to park i can fuel, park, then take my FREE shower! (more companies need to see how much better this works then fueling in the morning.....)

I'm going to be takeing allot of pictures both to share with anyone interested about the company and so i can remember how things are tied down. But there are few things;
1. I will NOT be takeing any pictures/Videos of the terminals (so dont ask for pictures)
2. I will NOT be takeing any pictures/videos of the customers as in where the load came from or went to (again so dont ask for pictures)
3. Do to the fact that the freight is open, and not locked n' sealed in a trailer, Any and ALL Pictures/Videos will not be posted until after the load is delivered.
This is for 2 Reasons to protect me and my job and because all employees have to sign some paper saying you will not photograph or video, anything that could exspose trade secrets or something to that effect. So there will also be loads that i will not upload the pics of as well.
Also do to the extreme lengths they go to for safety and liability reduction I will not be doing any driving videos either (until further notice) Maybe rolling around the truck stop or something but thats about it. This is subject to change.
anyway, thanks for following along and watchin the videos, there will be a truck tour video comeing soon.
