    I wouldn't upload the load even after it's delivered... I'd worry. Maybe you can fuzz out the detailed bits of the freight, but still show us how you've tarped and/or chained so we can see how it's done.

    I haven't shown time for a pre-trip since they started up with the 14 hour rule....ALL my inspection time is shown during the post-trip. I do this because it is perfectly legal to park the truck at the 14th hour and then go "on duty not driving" to extend your day beyond the 14th hour while you do your inspection and whatever else needs to be done...as long as you do not drive until you've had 10 hours off duty/sleeper berth.

    If you show the time at the start of your day, you still have to quit driving at your 14th hour even though you essentially started your day slightly later.

    ....and I NEVER fuel at the end of my day when I'm running the road. If I know I'm not going to make it home, I try to fuel 4 to 5 hours before I plan to park the truck (I've only got 100 gallons capacity split between 2 tanks) so that I have no more than 1/4 tank when I finish my day. My 3rd trip after buying my truck I made the mistake of parking at a motel with dern near full tanks (back before I split my passenger tank 60 gallons hydraulic/20 gallons diesel...so I still had 160 gallon capacity) and if it wasn't for an off-duty cop working night time security at the motel, I would have returned to my truck to find the tanks emptied. Luckily, though, they were caught just as they were getting started, so if they managed to get anything it wasn't much....other than a pair of linked chrome bracelets and a reserved room at the gray-bar motel, of course.

    I friggin' HATE thieves.:biggrin_25516:

    They'll sit there at the truck stop and watch to see who fuels up and heads straight back to the lot to park for the night. They know you've got full tanks because they JUST watched you fill them. When you walk inside with your shower bag, they KNOW you are going to be gone for at least 30-45 minutes...probably longer. Don't make yourself an easy target.

    Don't they make locking caps?

    Locking caps are a gimmick...same as the anti-siphon inserts. While they may make you feel all warm and fuzzy THINKING you are doing something to prevent your fuel from being stolen, they aren't doing a #### thing to stop a thief. The guys arrested trying to steal my fuel had plenty of tools in their truck. Remove the crossover line or one of the drain plugs in the tank and it all flows out. They won't even give a second thought to punching a hole right through the aluminum tank to gain access to what they are after....it's not their truck, so why should they care?

    If they want it, they are going to get it. Your best defense is to not have much of what they are after. The risk vs. reward the thief is facing is tilted a lot more in YOUR favor if the risk is high (highly visible, well lit, well traveled location...high probability of getting caught) and the reward is low (not much fuel in the tanks), so they are less likely to make the attempt as opposed to if they JUST saw you fill your tanks (high reward) and head into that dark back section of the truck stop that doesn't see much foot traffic (low risk).

    Easy day;

    Left 5am drove the 5 hours home fueled on the way, parked my truck. I even pulled the red line off and put a glad hand lock on it lol. Next time i get to IOWA 80, im buying a Air Cuff. My truck is parked right next to my dads buddies 379, it should (better be) safe there.

    Anyway since i wasnt planning on being home for Xmas i didnt do any Xmas shopping so i've been out all day attempting to do that what a freakin mess out there!

    Its a good probability most of us have done seen them.:biggrin_25522:

    Cool I'll take pic and film ya as I go by> That way your off the hook.:biggrin_25523:

    A truck driver with a secert is about as safe as a bank robber guarding a bank.
    When the black SUV behind you wont pass and go on, then you know your hauling something worth while.:biggrin_25522:
