I left the house this morning to Brownwood, TX for polyurathane pipe going to Corpus Christi tomorrow. I suspect i'll be headed to Laredo after.

I have just got accepted to orientation. I am going to start in July. I am trying to do more homework and try and decide between Lone Star and Schneider National. Leaning to Lone Star because I want some flatbed experience. Can anyone tell me what it's like at Lone Star.
1. What's the orientation like?
2. How is the physical?
3. Are you guys making money, how many miles do you average per week?
4. I live in the Bryan Texas area. Does LS get you home when you want or request.
5. How many weeks do you stay out 3, 4 etc.d o g Thanks this. -
1. What's the orientation like? 4 days... usual orientation stuff. You get 3 meals provided and 150.00 per day orientation pay on your first check
2. How is the physical? 5 minute stair step test, 100lb tarp lift to the height of a flatbed. Cake.. just keep your elbows tucked and push straight up
3. Are you guys making money, how many miles do you average per week? I'm happy. I'm pulling in gross over 4200 every month depending on hometime. I average between 9500-12000 miles per month.
4. I live in the Bryan Texas area. Does LS get you home when you want or request. Shouldn't be hard to get you home. Theres a few times I was late for hometime.. their in the vicinity of your request.. just like every company. Expect about 3 weeks before you can put in for hometime.
5. How many weeks do you stay out 3, 4 etc. I stay out anywhere from 6-12 weeks at a time. This round is the shortest i've done in a turn at 3 weeks only cuz i'm throwin' a get together for memorial weekend.d o g Thanks this. -
I wish I could come for Memorial day man, but it appears I'll still be on this project by then. I did get my passport card in though, so I'm ready for Canada loads.

Yeah I wasn't sure if you were still gonna be on that or not... but I figured it was worth a shot. Invite is still there in the event something happens.
I delivered this morning... turned off the truck and offloaded.. turned it on and the blower was out in the cab.. AGAIN. 2nd time in 1.5 months. Then sat most of the day and halfway through the sleeper seemed to have stopped blowing cool air. Although, I don't know if it was that or it couldn't keep up with the heat. In any case i'm in San Antonio in line for tomorrow morning to get fixed. I got there one truck too late... so i'm at the T/A tonight in the truck (someplace to sleep and wasn't wanting to foot for a hotel) and first thing they'll get to me. Better than nothing I suppose.d o g Thanks this. -
It never fails for me. Around the 4-6 week mark something goes wrong with my truck. This time my drive axle airbags aren't inflating. I'm going to have a crushed spine and scoliosis by 7am.
d o g Thanks this. -
Spot a Lizzie $50.00 to rub that out for ya. Should be easier to find one of them than a Chiropractor you can get into with a truck.
-
Dang 5 minutes on a stair stepper. Not sure if I can last that long lol. -
Getting it fixed though as I type this. Sure dryer went out. Thought it might of been a bad leveling switch but not the case.
