One thing that I noticed was the front strap on the drivers side in the photo is hooked underneath the rub rail. I would suggest that you wrap it around the rub rail and hook it on top of the rub rail rather than underneath.

that front strap is just a 2" strap to keep the front tarp from filling with air. I tried to wrap it like i did the rest of them, but with 2 layers of tarp and all the bungies i couldnt get the hook to go through so i said fook it and just hooked it lol.

I thought you were just using it to hold the tarp. I sometimes put my straps on the outside of my tarp. It sometimes helps to minimize tarp damage. If I plan on using straps on the outside of the tarps I usually at least position them before putting on all the bungies. It makes it easier. A good tarp job is one that keeps the load dry. It appears that your tarp job will keep the load dry.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Two 4' Drop Sheet Rock Tarps and 2 Steel tarps, plus the product is covered in plastic lol it better be dry under all that! lol
I had to add the 2 steel tarps after the fact because the shipper tarped the load with tarps full of huge holes and i didnt want to unsecure the bottom tarp first i wanted it to stay in place.
To be honest i had no idea what i was doing since both steel tarps wouldnt cover it, i just did the best i could lol

One thing about pulling an open deck trailer is that you need to learn how to improvise. I have had to throw an extra tarp over another tarp that was ripped or had a hole in it. You do what you need to do in order to keep the load dry and secure. I sometimes have a cheap plastic tarp that I can put underneath one of my heavy tarps if it is mandatory that nothing gets wet. It is an inexpensive way to protect the load.American-Trucker and SheepDog Thank this. -

i've posted all of this info in this thread....
I went threw 1st week of Dec
You do a regular DOT Physical at a local clinic
Then you have to do a Agility test, the only hard part is lifting the 97lb tarp and put it on a shelf thats 6 feet off the ground

You're doing a fine job. Get yourself some contact cement and find pieces from an old tarp that you can cut up for patches. Put contact cement on the tarp and on the patch then applied works great.
For someone that says you don't do a lot of tarp loads. Third load and 2 to had to be tarped. LOL
you have a great attitude and you are doing a great job. You'll learn to hate the dreaded its pre-tarp. Which means the lazy ### driver left all his garbage so now you get it to repair.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
these are tarped by the shipper i figured they would look at the tarp to make sure it'll keep there product dry...I could climb threw these holes thats how big they are....
I'm at a trainee level so i'm restricted to legal loads which = more tarping for now, one i start to move up threw the levels there will be allot less tarping
