The guys on the loading dock don't care just like the a hole that left those tarps. That's why I hate pretarp loads you never know what kind of garbage you're gonna get.
I used to run a seven axle lowboy. I don't know maybe I'm just getting old is just so much easier to run legal flatbed loads.
I never did find tarping hard at all. Actually I enjoy it nothing like a nice looking tarp job.

But in my younger days I really enjoyed the ODs loads. Heck I pulled stretched trailers for three years. I thought it was really fun pulling 80 foot long steel beams. Drive safe and enjoy the ride.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I was looking at the weather.

And its suposed to start raining at 2am and keep raining until at least 4pm.

    i deliver at 8am!

    What happends?

Do i have to sit and wait for the rain to stop so i can take off 600 Bungies, 4 tarps, and the plastic, 10 straps, 20 V-Boards, and unload?

    STUPID RAIN!

If you are delivering to a large facility like a Home Depot, mfg home builder, etc they will probably have an indoor space to unload. If not, pull your securement and the bungees. Lift the tarp up on one side so they can get under the tarp with the forklift. They will probably run it to their storage point without covering it. If it is really pouring they will probably have something they can throw over the top.

Many consignee's have facilities where you can pull through to load/unload so that the load is protected. In any case, they will tell you where they want you to unload.

    nope not exactly....

I got to the shipper, it wasnt raining (thank god), undid all my sheet put it all away, got unloaded went back to Toms brook (loves). And got a load not 5 min later this is at about 1115am.

Not even 3 min later QC message (load Cancled) dispatch calls, planner thinks he's got a closer load to you give him a few i'll call you back. this load was suposed to pick up in Mebane, NC going to Dallas area.

    I wait n wait n wait n wait n, i called to check in a few times......

4:48pm QC: We lost the load, head to XXXXXX SC....ok thats 9.5 hours away i have 4 hours left on 14....sweet:biggrin_25526:

So I call dispatch, head that way i'll send info, call me in the morning...

So i hammer down, idots cant drive in snow up here i guess but i made it to the Newish kinda pilot on 95 in VA I-95 X11B.

So now im 6 hours from this town....dispatch dont come in till 8 CST....so if i wait till then to call and see what to do...and if i have to go there still i wont get there till 3:biggrin_25512:

so im going to do a 10, head that way then call when he gets in before im out in BFE sc though. so i might screw up my hours, but im NOT not getting loaded cuz i didnt get there in time.

So i donno what im doing yet lol

Hopefully I can get loaded and makeing some money tomorrow.

I understand the winter is the slow season for FB work, i also understand that the holidays screw everything up, i also understand the because im limited to legal loads for a few months that limits them on what loads i can haul, so im being patiant with all this sitting......In hopes things start picking up quick lol
