Hey PattyJ can you provide factual information to back up that the companies "receive subsidy even if the person last 1 day."

I often hear this claim and I am skeptical as to the truth in it...I know the government does some silly things but.....

I asked a company once and he wouldn't answer me so I take that as yes they do receive subsidy.I also googled it asked other drivers and they all say the same thing. But to provide actual facts no.Some things in this country are left hidden so the ppl don't get in an uproar over it.But I strongly believe they do receive subsidies as much as 10k per student and or driver. You don't think companies could afford new trks new trls elogs and everything else just what drivers make for them do you?Far as one day,I think they receive subsidy after the driver/student gets hired. They probably receive something just for bringing the ppl in.Look how high a turnover rate trucking has.Especially England. They're not going to hire hudreds a month and not receive something from the government.

So do they send in a form and receive the 10k in subsidies or do they need to meet certain requirements over a period of time....is trucking the only industry that does this?

No trucking is not the only that does this, non trucking does as well.I did send FMCSA a 6 page letter about this the laws ,trucking companies and the industry as a whole which they should have got last Monday.I asked them a lot of questions.Hoping they read it and reply back.

I was totally with you until this.

"It is also my opinion, and not a very pleasant one, that OTR drivers who never go home are slobs and weirdos which is one of the only reasons why anyone would live this kind of life. Not to mention most only shower once every other day because the showers cost $12 unless your fueling for more than 50 gallons which does not happen every day or even every other day."

No need to insult everyone because you had a bad experience.
