Ever think there is more to the story than just HIS side , just as the replies have 2 sides

What is it with new drivers and getting sick? There are tons of threads here from new drivers that talk about how they get seriously ill while with their trainers.

Granted, I wasn't there so I know nothing about the validity of what any of them say, but I'm am wondering what is in these trucks that make so many new people sick that those of us that have been driving for a bit longer are not reacting to.

Makes me wonder if my days are numbered............

I think I might be able to shed some light on the subject. When you deal with a company that is pushing drivers out like last year's laundry then yeah you might catch a bug from all the germs that go through a trainer's truck. Next might be the fact that when a person goes from eating healthy, having a nice meal at home to eating when or if the truck stops, might be a bit of a shock to the human body.

So you figure eating like a trucker does take experience as well. The one good thing all my trainers taught me while they were sleeping in there bunks.

Your rite, there are always two sides of the coin. I'm only here giving my side, so like the saying goes "Take everything a trucker says with a grain of salt". But then again how many good stories you hear on here about The Big Blue Screw do you really hear.

I actually still talk to my first trainer, we really did get along very well. He is a great trainer, his story is quite said in a way. But that's not for me to tell. Let's just say he got screwed as well.

There seems to be a lot of new drivers getting sick , A lot of it is to due with the change of lifestyle they were use to , eating at different times / places sort of out of synch and their nerves play a big part in it as well.

I think the next thread should be how not to get sick on a trainer's truck and how to prepare for a change in eating and sleeping habits.:biggrin_25519:

Start eating fatty, greasy nasty gas station food at least a month prior to starting. lol I could never do it. Grodie! The fact that I get road rage pretty easily would definitely be a reason to NOT give me the keys to a Big Rig. :p

I think a lot of trainees get sick from all of the bouncing around in the truck also, kinda like getting sea sick.
