If youre tired, you pull over. Its as simple as that... New drivers are not yet able to drive all night. Ive done it a few times. When youre so tired youre not able to keep your eyes open... ITS TIME TO STOP. Whether its just a 30 minute nap, or getting out and walking around. Super truckers will pay later down the road, or sooner if/when they fall asleep at the wheel. Need to get out and walk around to keep blood flowing.

I'm not even going to comment on pattyj's post. I don't think I have to fuel his/her fire to feel good about myself thanks for all the comments and post from everyone who participated in my venting. I didn't have to go see a shrink and waste more money on the mind **** The Big Blue Screw gave me.
Well I decided to go with Roehl. I received my pre-hire yesterday and now I'm waiting at the greyhound bus terminal, so I can get home and see my honey and spend some quality time before I go out again. I think Roehl is a better fit for me.Dennis_Miller Thanks this. -
If I were a trainer I would hate to get a trainee like him.
He is just leaving out all the details on why he had 4 trainers in a month. Lets say he was driving and wanted to call his wife while he was driving. The trainer would tell him no because he was driving. So the trainee would probably ask for another trainer, complaining that while on the road for a week the trainer wouldn't let him talk to his wife. Of course leaving out the details that he was driving at the time.. -
haha >SIGH< ....nevermind. I feel like my dog when he chases his tail.
Dennis_Miller Thanks this. -

EXCUSE ME? Go back and read the OP. He called an ambulance. It WAS that bad. So, tell me again how he WASN'T sick enough to call for medical attention. You have rode this guy up one side and down the other because his TRAINERS were garbage. The 1st one fired (NOT the OP's fault), the 2nd one abandoned him after being told to wait for the OP to get out of the hospital. As for the 3rd, well, that one I'd have to get the other side of the story to figure out where the real story is.
Get off your high horse. YES, training is a booger to get through, and you have to develop a thick skin. But you do NOT have to take abuse.ccorley78, Flat Knuckle, Kickstand-117 and 3 others Thank this. -
BigCheese, not4hire, Dennis_Miller and 1 other person Thank this. -
Been reading alot of threads lately but not posting any replies. Had to comment on this though. Shouldn't have to "handle" either trainer or dispatcher. They both should be professional enough that the work place is not like bootcamp. This is a job like any other. Though the hours and situations are extremly different then most jobs it isn't the military and shouldn't be compared to or treated as if it is. And yes Pattyj, trucking can be a 9-5 job and you can go home everyday if you find the right company to work for. I start in the morning and go home every afternoon after my shift is done. More and more companies are structuring there loads this way to have dedicated daily and regional runs so drivers can get home more frequently. If you want to run a bootcamp I suggest you talk to a local military recruiter. I think they are still looking for a few good men, or women whatever the case may be for you.
Kash6972 Thanks this.
