My understanding was always pretty much if your log shows you being out past your first day you better have hotel receipts.
My favorite part of flatbedding?

Got a regulation to back that up?

No, but that’s what I was always told. At minimum it seems like a good idea so you’d have a way to at least prove you had rest if ever questioned about it.BackwoodsGA Thanks this.

You never stay in a hotel...
You always slept at a girl friends house or just a friends house.

Hotel receipts are not one of the things that companies or drivers are required to save for a period of time or produce for an audit or inspection. Indeed, many of the drivers that use motels have a hotel card, like a CLC card from their company. They do not get a receipt as the card company direct bills the trucking company.

Where the heck yall delivering?? I'm typically at a shipper or receiver for 2-3 hours!
OLDSKOOLERnWV and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
All over the place. The only time I had to wait that long was when I pulled into the wrong entrance, and another driver pulled in behind me. We had to turn around and go to another entrance, which put him first in line, so I had to wait for him to get loaded. Otherwise it's boom boom, gone. Sometimes it takes longer to actually load, depending on product and forklift driver skill level, but I never have to wait for it to actually start.

It may not be required for a driver to have one, but it’s at the very least a wise precaution.
