No way. Its none of law enforcements business where a driver slept during his off duty time. Is his logbook/eld correct and no violations? Thats all they need to worry about.God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

LOL, "DAT Power". Just been lucky, I guess. Now here I am already two hours at a shipper because they're cutting my load as they go. Guess that's what I get for talking crap.
From what I understand, you only have to produce receipts in your possession. If he asks for a receipt..."I don't have one. Now write me up for a chafed airline so I can be on my way." -
Those receipts would be available in. the worst case scenario of a fatal wreck. The old girlfriend's house alibi will be proven false, in which case.... We the jury find the defendant GUILTY!

Why? It’s not Illegal to sleep in the cab of a day cab truck. Find me the law that says it is.

Farmtractor9900, God prefers Diesels and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
The fact remains that there is nothing in the regs that say you have to document where, when or even if you sleep. Regs only say you cannot drive fatigued. But some are intimidated by a dot cop and may think that they have to tell them if they ask. Just show your log book or ELD and tell them "Off Duty". I never volunteer any kind of info.God prefers Diesels, kylefitzy and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

That won’t stop him from putting you OOS for 10 hours.beastr123 Thanks this.

The irony of saying a driver is not properly rested because he can’t prove where he slept, then putting him out of service, somewhat forcing him to sleep in a day cab for 10 hours. The driver should just call the us marshals!

Cops have done dumber things, unfortunately.D.Tibbitt, God prefers Diesels, beastr123 and 1 other person Thank this.

Or as I like to call it: "Just cops being cops".
