I'm not worried about it. I think I'll win. The ratecon, which I can still sign, is not the only thing that constitutes a binding agreement. Remember, I have an email chain in which she told me to strike out the first ratecon and send it back to her and it will stand. Basically the whole email chain supports my claim and their negligence.
Regardless, my choices are simple:
1- Take $75 and be rid of them. On the advice of some of you, this is where I'm leaning.
2- Take the load on Monday. Again, whether it is $500 or $695 is not the issue.
I was set on choice 2 until he emailed me this morning and riled me up. But, do I really want to work with these idiots? Do I really want to end up in El Paso? Do I really want to cut off my nose to spite my face?
We'll see how I wake up tomorrow.
My first fight with a broker as an Owner Operator

Cant say i blame you.. Sometimes it's just the fight and take your frustration out on someone.. For $75 bucks id just leave it alone and find something else to do. Takes like 30 seconds to spend $75 at the fuel island now.. And what ur gonna be waiting 30 days to get that? Hahaha this game we play is quite frustrating sometimes
Trucker61016, Siinman, Short Fuse EOD and 1 other person Thank this. -
Like I said, I might just call it a day with these buffoons.Siinman, Rideandrepair and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Can you successfully file on their bond anyway? I'm under the impression the bond only covers freight charges and no accessories like tonu and detention..
Also, Am I really reading this right? Ft. Worth to El Paso for $500? A 600 mile trip over 7 days? And people wonder why the rates are in the dumps....Trucker61016, gekko1323 and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
I also tend to do things on principle, as well as hold grudges. This is why I have a friend dispatch and deal with brokers for me. I don’t want to burn any bridges. I get in the moment just a little too much.

Why are you so determined to either continue work with this broker or waste time over $75? Everything points to them being one of our typical industry scoundrels. They've already proven they're no good and not trustworthy. Is it "the good rate"? That's how every scammer hooks a fish. You'd be fortunate to see your money in 2 months if ever.
Yeah those load outs go cheap all the time. Hard to believe they get covered. What happens when on one of the loads the fork lift driver knocks a hole in the roof or gouges down the walls real good maybe taking out a post or two? I've had that #### happen before with my own brand new trailer. I honestly believe they do it to new equipment on purpose because they think that #### is funny. I'm betting the master packet and/or rate con detail that fully as your problem and cost. Brokers don't leave that to chance.
