Wow.. Sorry things didnt work out. We were all pulling for ya. P&D is a different animal. The job can get overwhelming at times. Hope your new job is a better fit. Can I ask who ripped your log page out?
Big Don Thanks this. -
I Would prefer Not to go into specifics until I get the check for those two days. Only thing that could make my 30 hour two day stint with these guys any worse is then trying to screw me out of my pay.
Like I say, I did love it. I am going to get my hazmat and try to get on with a large ltl company this is definitely what I want to do, p&d was nice. Just chose the wronge place to go.
Trying industries is a mine field these days and the things these guys get away with lieing to drivers just to get them in there should be punishable in court. -
Seeing overtime pay will be weird lol. Iv always had flat rate or per Mile
-
Too bad your first go at this didn't work out. Hope things get better for you. -
Big Don, Im not complaining that i didnt get paid overtime, I never even hinted at that Because i know thats not how it works. I was complaining that i was told this was going to be AT THE MOST 10 hours days then got worked 15+ hours both days and then wanted to run illegal. I mentioned the overtime pay because the job im going to is hourly and i was just stating how weird its going to be to get over time pay because like you said, You Usually dont

Sorry u had such a bad exp with this company.Next place will be better.Do you think had you been ther awilee doing the same job you would have gotton faster?Sometimes you have to pick up a rhythm and from then on its smooth sailing. But this company not caring if u run over hrs isn't for u.

The first day, I just gave them the benifit of the doubt that MAYBE it was my fault. The second day i hit every dock at minimum 15 minutes early and because i was makeing good time they added two extra pickups to my route to make sure to get the most from me i would assume. I know for a fact the second day was not my fault, and when i had the little encounter with the boss at the end of the day all but made my mind up as to what needed to be done.

be glad you got out when you did, it would have only gotten worse. i used to work for one of those psycho's. what they did was push you to see if you were desperate enough to do anything to keep the job. if you were ok with the log book skit they knew you would roll over on most everything else. you would then become their latest whipping boy, having to do 16 hour days, coming back before your 10 was up and then trying to guilt you into working whatever they needed out of you on a saturday.
Big Don Thanks this. -
old d old dominion looks like they need someone in columbus, try them.
fedex has road and city listed in west jefferson and then just city listed in chillicothe, if that's not too far for you.
the link i have here won't go to the ohio page, you're going to have to put in the us, then ohio, and finally truckdriver parameter to get to the ohio listings.
estes has on opening in columbus listed tooLast edited: Mar 16, 2014
