And, they’re operating out of another business address. This is very common for immigrant-owned companies in/around Chicago.

You did the right thing by coming on here and asking for advice. You have been given great advice by knowledgeable folks on this forum. Exactly how it was intended to be used. Pass on this fiasco and keep looking for a non 1099 job.

This is what he told me
Drop and hook is in Elkhart, IN and deliveries to either Idaho, Oregon, Washington or southern Cali. It’s drop and hook at shipper and live unload. We can throw you in the rotation for that account. When you come onboard we’ll let your dispatcher know

There is value in the training. Yes the pay sucks, but you should be getting a bunch of knowledge out of it as well.

Looking at my last 3 guys - the first might have been able to hack it without training. Former military, head screwed on tight, good guy but didn't think he needed to be on the road with a trainer. End of the week he gave me the best review I've ever gotten. My guy from last week was young and spoiled- he's been texting me every day with questions that we covered but he wasn't listening to. He'll be okay, but if it were sink or swim he'd be playing cribbage with the crabs.

My last guy? I stopped him from having an accident 3 times in the first day. Stopped him from jumping the kingpin and taking the wrong load on Day 2. That is what you have to lose - your clean record. You may think you're ready, but I guarantee you'll learn something when you go out with a trainer.

So it’s a new DOT # with one truck one driver listed..Could have more by now but should have updated his mcs-150
One truck inspection that led to an oos giving an oos rating of 100%. This makes me tend to believe that the equipment probably isn’t top notch. You’ll definitely be on the DOT’s radar that’s for sure. Drivers have been inspected and passed 5 times so that’s good on the drivers.

My guess is the guy bought a truck and he’s willing to put anyone in it. Wonder how he’s going to finagle a brand new zero experience driver by his insurance company. Guessing he knows very little about the industry and doesn’t realize that he can’t afford you yet.

If and I’d almost guarantee that you’ll be running spot market crap like me. Trust me when I tell you that the promised rpm is just someone’s delusion. Once just the very basic expenses are taken out there won’t be $0.63 per mile left to pay you..

IMO, you are going to be making a huge mistake by going with them.

You said something in a earlier reply that caught my attention.. “What do I have to lose”

My answer.. with zero experience you could lose more than you ever imagined.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Digging into the DOT number you get a variety of addresses, none of which go to anything trucking related, except the one in Florida - when you search that one it comes up with a revoked authority.

I'd rather you signed on with Super Ego. They suck, but they won't leave you lying in a ditch.
