My first month with Watkins & Shepard

Sitting here in Amarillo, I realized that I have been driving for a month already..Wow, time flies when they keep you busy.So far I have learned a lot, and I am sure their is A LOT more to learn. I have met a lot of cool drivers that have given me tons of helpful info. I'm thankful Axe was around my first couple of trips,he too helped me out a lot.From 5/31 to 6/30 I have driven a total of 12,903 miles. Within those dates I took 3 resets, and had 0 home days. My truck has been good to me, no major break-downs other than having my alternator replaced which set me back 4 hours. It's an older truck with 775,346 miles but it is well maintainedand runs really good, I enjoy driving past those other company trucks that didn't bother calling back overall I'm very happy with w/s, and I hope it stays that way.anyone know after how many miles they switch trucks?Id really like one of the newer Volvo's

 

Well at 25 cents per mile that comes out to $3,225.75, plus drop pay and tuition reimbursement, so all in all I grossed about $3,500 for the month.
I'll definitely update my progress as the month goes on.

 

Well its a start, not like I'm going to be earning that amount forever, I'm just grateful to be getting paid for doing what I love to do.

 

I'm ok with starting at 25 a mile, I mean it puts food on the table and pays the bills, all the extras can come later after I get some miles under my belt. I am very glad I came to w/s, they keep you moving thats for sure. On another note, I'm having my alternator replaced again, 2 times in one week... but like the shop says, it Has to be done, no big deal it only sets back an hour or so.
