    Wow

I know of a small company that does some wide loads and a few where the loses rig grosses 120k lbs
They also do a lot of idling. When the truck has cargo on the trailer they don’t shut the engine off .

they change the oil every 10k
And they sell the trucks and buy new ones when the warranty expires , five years or 500k miles . Their rigs also get an annual DOT inspection from a mechanic , every week.

Pushing 100k is a fast way to ruin the rebuild. Motors aren't perfect. Oil accumulates blowby. And destroys the oil.

By yourself a heavy bottle jack or something. Big drain pan. 12v electric motors are cheap. Use that to pump drained oil in to 5 gallon jugs. Any auto store will take it.

There's a thing as being cheap oil changes. You can do it yourself for half the cost.

And there's a thing as being cheap oil change. Once a year might be cheaper but a motor rebuild will cost more then what you save.

Your truck makes you money. You need to take care of it. Not neglect it.

40k for your first analysis. That oil should have been changed twice at least.

Some of us change our first oil at 500 to 1000 miles on our new cars or motors. No way I'd rebuild a motor and push it 100k. at a time.

Piece of 1/4 inch DOT air line about 12 inches longer than the dipstick... Stuff it down the dipstick tube and place your finger tight over the end, pull air line out... Probably take a few dips to get enough for an oil sample, but it works well and is cheap.

I bought this or similar to it from amazon. Vacuum Pump | Blackstone Laboratories Just bought 50'of DOT air line and use new everytime I sample. Cheap and fast as well.

I have 43,000 on a 12.7 Series 60 rebuild. Pulled the first sample and never sent it in. Never did another. I pull 75,000 pounds daily. Lots of hard pulling short trips. Lots of idling. I do 10K oil changes with Rotella 15/40 T4 dino oil.

Even if you have to purchase the stuff to change yourself it’s not that much. 58 quart oil drain pan below $110 at Napa. Harbor Freight bottle jack $40. Oil at Walmart cheapest place. Buy filters online by the case.

Pan is heavy after change but I take the entire thing to a mechanic shop and put in his tote for waste oil heater. Oil filters go in trash at home.

Schneider does oil changes every 75-80k.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I use to drive for them intermodal. They service the trucks once a year, never more.

It really shouldn't matter what Schneider does. It's not a reason to validate something that IMO is the wrong choice.

I get times are lean right now, but I really think that's a bad decision. Even more so at 650k.

In the end, it's your truck. I would just hate to see you get into a position where you're out 30k on an engine, or throw a driveshaft cause you lost a u joint. All those things that get checked during a PM
