A mile after getting on I-24 I smelled coolant. Within 30 seconds the low coolant started going off. Pulled over, shutdown and opened the hood to find coolant everywhere. Put my triangles out and started the truck. Top hose going into the thermostat housing split at the clamp. Took the clamp off, wrapped the hose with water sealing Gorilla tape and put the clamp on. Stopped the leak so I added coolant and drove 12 miles to a TA. They don’t carry radiator hose so I Ubered to Rush and picked up a new hose and clamps. All in all not too bad. $140 for hose and clamps and $14 for a round trip Uber. And 2.5 hours.
My first side of the road breakdown
