newtrucker2011, I really have a good feeling about you making it in this industry. Hold your grounds next time, and refuse to move the truck when you are out of hours. Look for a better company. I`ll put money on it, You WILL do very well in trucking. Some other advise. Anytime you can, Anywhere, Practice backing into any dock. Only takes maybe a few minutes to back into a dock. This practice will get you a very good job.

Just love all the ENCOURAGEMENT given.
Now I am sure if the words SWIFT , CRE , SNI were to have been mentioned in the OP's first post the replies would be to RUN.
But some NO NAME cheap outfit ( junk trucks , 8-5 dispatch , need to CALL to try and get fuel , pays cash under the table ) and this guys a hero for sticking it out.Tazz Thanks this. -
New drivers read things on this forum, and the Veteran drivers set the example for the newdrivers. Professional Veteran drivers Do Not support any Illegal actions pertaining the preformance of a daily routine of trucking. We all encourage the New drivers to follow all CSA 2010 rules.U4EA Thanks this. -
He HAS been told to run like hell, by several people. I agree with people who applaud him for sticking it out, because quitting in Nashville and leaving the truck might have financially screwed him for a long time.
I think he did the best he could with the situation, and is now in a much better position to run like hell.
As bad as some of the mega companies are..I have to say, I've never had a problem with getting things fixed, whether its at the terminal or on the road.
Now a little smaller carrier (200 trucks) was a nightmare, and we're still hashing out that situation. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Yeah right and the NEXT News Report of a MAJOR truck crash as a result of Running Illegal in a JUNK truck and this CLOWN might be get a mention.
Really pays to take the CHANCE. -
OK, so the first guy who has NEVER doctored his log book by 30 minutes should be the one who gets to pull the trigger on the firing squad for this guy.
The old saying "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" come to mind. Have you really NEVER moved your book around, or just started driving without a full PTI, or exceeded your 11 or 14? Of course, you can SAY anything here on the internet, but only you know the truth.
I'd only have a problem with the guy if he knowingly ran this run every week. One time. That's all..and now, he can either get everything fixed and run legally, or find another company - I'd recommend the latter. -
not sure if i would drop the truck in nashville and head home--i am lazy and hate buses--but then again i would look at the equipment and the business long before i ever signed on--i am sure not mr perfect by any means--but i am not going to drive junk
i sure dont mind older trucks--actually prefer them and dont mind a few broken things--but no way will i drive junk -
He was a new guy, and naive... you ASSUME that a truck meant for issue to a driver would be clean, and would have been through the shop... many times NOT the case.
