Can't everybody maintain 100+ foot interval AND everyone maintain a constant given speed unless there was more then a 1/4 mile in between them before they ever approached the scale area. You have to violate one rule or the other (probably both) during busy times of day with dense traffic patterns. It's a simple rule of traffic pattern reality ... one slows, the one behind has to slow that much plus 5% more to maintain the desired spacing, and so on it goes down the line until one is forced to stop. Wonder if there is a citation for rear ending the vehicle in front because the sign told you to maintain speed? .... oh wait, there was another sign that said maintain minimum interval. Hard to respond to that sort of logic.
The Georgia (especially the Atlanta west eb) scale cops are truly an example of how the dumbest and slowest are the most qualified for state/federal jobs involving law enforcement at the trucker level. I also noticed Alabama is actively and heavily training a new crop of CMV inspection cop candidates.
My first Warning ticket for Speed. Georgia.

I see on your avatar its 17% grade, where was that taken at?
-
That is actually on a small road west of 540 and between Fort Smith and Fayetville, AR. I forget the road number exactly. But I'm not sure if it's really 17% but whatever it is is really short like maybe less then 1/4 mile around a switchback.pattyj Thanks this.

What scale in GA got you?
I go through them every week on I-20.
I noticed the last few weeks the eastbound scales just west of Atlanta don't have those bypass signs working.
Even empty I have to go in....
Alabama westbound I-20 scales have been working hard the last few weeks. -
You get signs warning you of an upcoming scale 1-2 miles in advance. So yes, you have a mile or two to get that 1/4 mile spacing before entering the scale lane. You know it's coming, so end that phone call you've been on for the last 50 miles and pay attention to your driving.SHO-TYME Thanks this.

Amen to that driver! That 5 mph crap through the chicken house drives me nuts!SHO-TYME Thanks this.

Wow! I used to run up to Toledo every week a few years ago and hated the 55 zone for trucks!
Glad to see they got with the times like most other states.
Is 70 just the turnpike or is it on other major Interstates too?
