If you’ve ever wanted to pick your own loads to better plan your life, you can with USA Truck!
Our Drive Your Plan self-dispatch system gives qualified company drivers the freedom to self-dispatch depending on how you want to drive and what your home time needs are.
Access USA Truck’s easy-to-use custom load board app to see all available loads in a specific market and go anywhere you choose and get home whenever you want as freight allows!
My Goal, is is doable?

Well, I hate to be the wet blanket, as usual, but it probably won't happen. As a truck driver, you'll go where the freight is needed, usually big urban areas, and if you do a good job, you'll go there repeatedly. There's not much call for freight in the desert. I think you are hoping it's like driving a motorhome and go where you want, but that's just not the case, sorry.

If he gets a cross country reefer gig, he can at least drive thru a lot of them.
nredfor88, NavigatorWife, Chinatown and 2 others Thank this. -
Get your own numbers. You can hit 48 states in 48 days, if you can work the load board. After that, make your own schedule.
NavigatorWife and Dennixx Thank this. -

Never mind, I checked and you're too far away for the flex schedule.
I was thinking of this company:

Someone that works at Berger-Allied was posting recently and said this company does hire some new cdl school grads. This is a 48 state carrier and probably very busy with people moving all over the place.

For what you want, right now looks like to start with USA Truck & self-dispatch, then later for the home time you want, go with Roehl Transport's flex schedule:
HOMEtime Plus™
- 7/7. Get up to 26 weeks off a year, driving 7 days out with 7 days at home.
- 7/4-7/3. Average 120 days off each year and get home every other week. Drive for 7 days with 4 days at home, followed by another 7 days with 3 days at home.
- 14/7. Get high miles and extended home time. Drive 14 days and enjoy 7 off.

It’s doable over time pulling refer for a company that does plenty of long trips. I’ve been driving close to a year and a half and have been through 44 states in the truck so far. 2 more should just be a matter of time. The other 2 unlikely any time soon, but one never knows.
Actually delivered or picked up in 31 states.
