My GPS power cord broke before my first NYC trip

    so, ####### that I am, bought a GPS at the truck stop to replace a $5 power cord. Now I have a $299.99 plus $22 tax GPS I don't need.

    Got home and bought a new power cord for $5.

    I'm a dumb butt.

    If anyone wants a 530 LM rand McNally for $100 off, you can benefit from my pre-NYC trip anxiety.

    Keep the new gps as a backup for when the first one fails again. I noticed they are only good for a few years before they start to crap out. The maps don't change all that much and when they do you can follow the signs they put up anyway.

    What's really funny is that the GPS was absolutely worthless getting me to my destination in jersey city.

    Had to use the old eye balls and directions from other drivers.
