So I'm currently on Vacation in D.C.

I've got over a year with Coca Cola Bulk.. I'm sitting here thinking I'm a big shot because I finally feel comfortable behind the wheel on my route..

But now that I'm in a big city with a whole bunch of narrow roads and height restrictions.. Really made me appreciate all you local guys in D.C./NYC or any other major cities..

How do u guys do it??

I worked security at a large northeast electric and gas company (guess who!). We did check ins for all trucks. We were in downtown. And our parking lot required tractor trailers to go under our building to get to the dock. Its impressive how the city drivers maneuver in tight spaces. Much respect.

Each type of driving job has its special talents. P&D drivers hustle. Kudos.

It just takes getting use to it. It is a little different with an oversized gasoline tanker and you have to stay alert every second you're going down the street but that is what makes it so great. And the money too. We would run into Coca-Cola and beer trucks all the time and they hated to move their truck if it was in our way. But they all learned that we had priority and if they didn't we would just drive away and the station would not get any of their gasoline. That's what we could do but if I was off the street, I would wait. They had a job to do also and they were on a tighter schedule than us. But have a private vehicle in my way and the tow truck was right there. I don't know why people can not read the signs but after $150 I don't think they will park anywhere near the fills.

Yeah that burns me up too. I'd like to see them take an 90 foot truck and trailer and make a delivery. Or go 20 to 30 years without so much as a scratch. We did have a few of those guys.

B trains, T & T are the most versatile configuration. Noticed how each truck combination is best suited for the job. The worst 40/20 & triples.

Head on a swivel and don't get mad at all the idiots. Most of my driving was nyc/baltimore doing food service with a 48ft 13,2 high. Just keep it calm and cool

Did a load to Washington last week and ####ing hated it. Nothing is worth going back to that place.

I didn't destroy anything. But my stomach was jacked up from the anxiety
